WOOD PRESERVATION

A Worldwide Leader in Wood Preservation Active Ingredients From the moment a tree is felled and brought to the saw mill, the timber needs protection from wood attacking fungi and insects. At Janssen Preservation & Material Protection, we have a range of wood protecting active ingredients and concentrates optimised to be formulated into industrial, professional and DIY wood preservation products. These active ingredients are effective in the preservation of solid timber as well as in the protection of engineered wood products, including wood-polymer composites. We continually seek to find potential new active ingredients, co-formulants or technologies for the wood preservation industry. Promising candidates are tested to confirm their efficacy, positive environmental contribution and economical viability. No product is commercialised unless it improves on existing efficacy or environmental performance. Having environmental protection as one of our top priorities, at Janssen Preservation & Material Protection we also work to anticipate, and potentially outperform the requirements of forthcoming regulations. As an industry leader with a strong track record, Janssen Preservation & Material Protection is a member of most relevant industry associations. Strong Track Record in Organic Active Ingredients Janssen Preservation & Material Protection research and development in wood preservation began over 25 years ago. We are known worldwide for the successful introduction of azoles and insect growth regulators ( IGR s ) in the wood preservation industry. Our compounds are also co-formulated with other organic active ingredients or with metal compounds. These combinations allow us to minimize the levels of active ingredients in the treatment products, by providing a wider spectrum of coverage against wood attacking organisms. This low retention approach helps to ensure competitiveness and additional reduction of the potential environmental impact of the treatments. Extensive knowledge in formulation chemistry and versatile production facilities enable us to supply our actives in forms optimised for their incorporation in solvent or water based treatment products. A wide range of wood preservatives in the worldwide market today are formulated based on our portfolio.
