CAS Number : Not applicable for mixtures Hazardous Ingredients : This material contains a petroleum mild-distillate. Toxicology data from studies on similar hydrocarbon mid-distillates indicate that lifetime application to the skin of mice resulted in low-level skin carcinogenicity response characterized by low tumour incidence and long latency. Brief or intermittent skin contact with this product is not expected to produce any serious affects if it is washed from the skin. While normal handling is not likely to cause cancer in humans, skin contact and breathing of mists, fumes or vapours should be reduced to a minimum. SECTION 3 PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES Appearance : Bright and Clear liquid Odour : NIL Solubility : Insoluble in water Boiling Point : 215 ~ 300 degree Celsius Melting Point : NIL Vapour Pressure : Not determined Percent Volatiles : Not determined Evaporation Rate : Not determined Vapour Density : Not determined Specific Gravity : 0.775 (min.); 0.83 (max.) NFPA Hazard Identification No. * : 0,2,0 Principal Hazards : WARNING : HARMFUL OR FATAL IF SWALLOWED PROLONGED OR REPEATED CONTACT WITH SKIN CAN BE HARMFUL. MAY CAUSE SKIN IRRITATION COMBUSTIBLE KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN NOTE : * NFPA HAZARD IDENTIFICATION NO. : HEALTH, FLAMMABILITY, REACTIVITY (see Appendix A) SECTION 5 FIRST AID MEASURES Ingestion : If swallowed, DO NOT MAKE the person vomit. Call a doctor immediately. (Aspiration may cause chemical pneumonia). Eye Contact : Flush eyes immediately with fresh water for at least 15 minutes while holding the eyelids open. If irritation persists, see a doctor. Skin : Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. See a doctor if any signs or symptoms described in this MSDS develop or if any skin irritation occurs. Launder contaminated clothing. Inhalation : Move exposed person to fresh air. If breathing has stopped, apply artificial respiration. Call a doctor immediately. Note to physician : NIL SECTION 6 FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES Extinguishing Media : Extinguish/control agents are dry chemical, carbon dioxide (CO2) and foam. Water may be ineffective on the flames, but water should be used to keep fire-exposed container cool. Fire fighting instruction : Recommended to wear self-contained breathing apparatus Special Hazard : Heating increases fire and explosion hazard. SECTION 7 ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Leak/spill : Eliminate all sources of ignition including internal combustion engines and power tools. Ventilate areas and avoid breathing vapour. Clean up small spills using appropriate techniques such as sorbent materials or pumping. Where feasible and appropriate, remove contaminated soil. Follow prescribed procedures for reporting and responding to large release. SECTION 8 HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling : In accordance with Government Regulations. PAGE 3 OF 7 REV: APRIL 2003
Storage : READ AND OBSERVE ALL PRECAUTIONS. - DO NOT USE OR STORE near flame, sparks or hot surfaces. Use and store only in cool, well ventilated area. - Keep container closed. - Do not heat, weld or drill container. - Replace cap or bung. - Empty container still contains hazardous explosive vapour or liquid. - Do not use container for other purpose such as storage of water, etc. CAUTION : Do not use pressure to empty drum or explosion may result. WARNING : Not to use portable heater. Toxic fumes may accumulate and cause death. SECTION 9 EXPOSURE CONTROL & PERSONAL PROTECTION a. Exposure Limit : No OSHA exposure standard or ACGIH TLV limits has been established for this material. b. Engineering measures : NIL c. Personal protection : Eye Chemical type goggles or face shields optional. Skin Inhalation Ventilation Exposed employees should exercise reasonable personal cleanliness; this includes cleansing exposed skin areas several times daily with soap and water and laundering or dry cleansing solid work clothing at least weekly. This material may be an inhalation hazard and unless ventilation is adequate. Use this material only in well ventilated areas. SECTION 10 STABILITY AND REACTIVITY Condition to avoid : Material is normally stable at moderately elevated temperature and pressure Incompatibles : Strong oxidizing agents Thermal Decomposition : Normal combustion forms carbon dioxide and water vapour. Incomplete combustion can produce carbon monoxide. Hazardous polymerisation : Will not occur SECTION 11 TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION Toxicity Data : Median Lethal Dose (LD50 LC50) (species): Oral PAGE 4 OF 7 REV: APRIL 2003
Inhalation Dermal Other : Irritation Index : Estimation of irritation Skin Eyes Symptoms of Exposure Carcinogenicity : Recent studies with laboratory animals have shown that gasoline vapours caused kidney damage and kidney cancer in rats and liver cancer in mice. Skin carcinogenicity characterized by low tumour incident and long latency. Reproductive effect : NIL Effects of everexposure : NIL Chronic effects : Long term exposure to this material may result in changes in : - the incidences and prevalence of psychiatric symptoms - psychological test - E.E.G. Target organs : Eye Irritation Expected to cause no more than minor eye irritation. : Skin Irritation May cause skin irritation. Applicaton of similar material onto the skin of rabbits produced moderate to severe skin irritation. Prolonged or repeated skin contact may be harmful : Respiratory System Prolonged breathing of the vapour can cause central nervous system effects. Medical condition generally : NIL aggravated by exposure SECTION 12 ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION Mobility & Bioaccumulation : Not determined Biodegradability : Non biodegradable Aquatic Toxicity : May cause long term adverse effects in the aquatic environment PAGE 5 OF 7 REV: APRIL 2003

While normal handling of this product is not likely to cause cancer in humans, skin contact breathing of mists, fumes or vapours should be reduced to minimum. Reports in the literature conclude that long-term exposure to jet fuels/kerosene may result in changes in: 1). The incidence and prevalence of psychiatric symptoms 2). Psychological tests and 3). Electroencephalogphy (EEG) The test to measure the activity of brain wave. These studies were conducted in specific work situations where there were exposures to jet fuels/kerosene. We have reviewed these studies and it is our opinion that the work situations are too complex and the analytical methods that brain damage are too imprecise to state with scientific certainty that either the condition occurs or that it was due to the type of material discussed in this MSDS. Since this product contains chemicals which are similar to those used in the work situation discussed above, it should be able handled strictly in accordance with the instructions of the product label and in this MSDS in order to minimize the occurrence of any adverse health effects. The information contained herein is to the best of our knowledge accurate, but since the circumstances and conditions in which it may be used are beyond our control, we do not accept liability for any loss or damage, however arising, which results directly or indirectly from the use of such information, nor do we offer any warranty or immunity against patent infringement.
