HOMELESSNESS IN CANADA At least 235,000 Canadians access homeless emergency services or sleep outside in a given year, with over 35,000 Canadians homeless on any given night. Bucking this trend are communities where there have been significant reductions in homelessness since the introduction of plans to end homelessness. At the heart of these plans is the concept of Housing First a transformative approach to homelessness where homeless people are given direct access to permanent housing with support they need to sustain it. Building on all these experiences, we believe an end to homelessness in Canada is not only possible, it s within reach. The Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness was formed to build and lead a national movement of individuals, organizations and communities working together to end homelessness in Canada. THE CANADIAN ALLIANCE TO END HOMELESSNESS Our vision: All Canadians have a safe, decent and affordable home with the support necessary to sustain it. Our mission: To prevent and end homelessness in Canada. Our work: We work toward a Canada without homelessness. We do it by helping communities and governments across the country apply proven approaches including Housing First and plans to end homelessness to transform programs, policies and systems toward the goal of ending homelessness. Our initiatives: 20,000 Homes Campaign A national movement of communities working together to house 20,000 of Canada s most vulnerable homeless people by July 1, 2018 Training and Technical Assistance A mission based, non-profit training and technical assistance consultancy providing on the ground training and support to communities and front line workers. State of Homelessness in Canada The Canadian Observatory on Homelessness and the CAEH partner to present this comprehensive national report card on homelessness in Canada.

Funders Together to End Homelessness Canada The CAEH supports Funders Together to End Homelessness Canada, a national network of funders supporting strategic, innovative, and effective solutions to homelessness National Conference on Ending Homelessness Our annual national conference arms policy makers, funders, researchers, advocates, community leaders and front line workers with the inspiration, information, tools and training they need to end homelessness. 4 th ANNUAL NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ENDING HOMELESSNESS The 4 th Annual National Conference on Ending Homelessness will be held at the London Convention Centre in London, Ontario from November 2 nd to 4 th, 2016. A critical element of our strategy to end homelessness in Canada is arming communities and policy makers with the research and training they need to end homelessness. The premier event of this strategy is our National Conference on Ending Homelessness. The inaugural conference was held October 28 30, 2013 in Ottawa. CAEH had an ambitious target of attracting up to 500 community leaders, agency representatives, researchers, funders and policy makers for a first time conference. We exceeded that goal by more than 150 people and had to cut off registration at 650 people weeks before the event because we had run out of meeting space. The Conference was so well received and the need so clearly demonstrated, that CAEH announced at the inaugural conference that it would host a second National Conference on Ending Homelessness in 2014. The second conference was held November 3 5 at Vancouver s Sheraton Wall Centre. This time we had to close off registrations at 760. The third National Conference on Ending Homelessness was held November 2-4, 2015 at Montreal s Bonaventure Hotel with almost 800 participants. Planning has begun on the 4 th National Conference on Ending Homelessness to be held November 2-4, 2016 in London, Ontario. Goals of our annual conference are to accelerate an end to homelessness by: a. providing community leaders, agencies, researchers, funders and policy makers the research and tools they need to develop and implement plans to end homelessness and Housing First programs b. providing community leaders, agencies, researchers and policy makers an opportunity to develop national and international networks; and, c. establishing high standards for local plans, systems and programs. 2

The conference program will feature over 60 plenary presentations, keynotes and concurrent sessions presented by over 150 leading Canadian and international experts over the course of two and a half days. In order to be successful, the conference must be accessible to as many participants as possible. CAEH has made a conscious decision to set registration fees as low as possible and to offer a number of Lived Experience Scholarships, based on initial expressions of funding support. Why Partner with CAEH: By partnering with the CAEH as a sponsor, you will have the opportunity to network with a national audience of policy makers, funders and agency leaders with access to federal, provincial and municipal policy makers in housing, homelessness, health, mental health, addiction and justice. Your support will be showcased to media and participants. You will receive recognition for participating in a growing national movement to better the lives of Canadians. SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES The National Conference on Ending Homelessness seeks to make participation in the conference as a funder open to as many supporters as possible. CAEH has developed a sponsorship plan that provides meaningful benefits for your financial support.
