The Active Knee: Current concepts in kinematic and joint line preservation in TKA Masterclass and Instructional course Preliminary programme Chairman: Professor J Victor (BE) Basel, Switzerland 7-8 April 2016 (Arrival on 6 April PM) Supporting healthcare professionals for over 150 years

Page 2 Description This meeting is designed to challenge convention and present modern concepts in Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) with a view to delivering improved patient outcomes. Especially designed for expert level delegates, it focuses on better replication of the normal kinematics of the knee, the role of the anatomic joint line and the surgical principles and tips and tricks to achieve this in both BCS and CR knees. In addition, it offers in depth understanding of enabling technologies inputs to patellofemoral joints (PFJ) and unicompartmental arthroplasty (UNI). Design objectives and rationale will also be discussed in an open forum, in addition to the potential patient benefits associated with creating a knee prosthesis that resembles the normal native knee. Conducted by an internationally renowned faculty, the programme combines modules of lectures, video case commentaries and interactive panel discussion in conjunction with advanced surgical technique session in cadaveric setting. Chairman Professor Jan Victor Ghent University Ghent, Belgium Faculty Professor Ali Al Belooshi United Arab Emirates University College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS) United Arab Emirates Dr Alois Franz Hospital for orthopedic surgery and sportmedicine St. Marienkrankenhaus Siegen, Germany Dr Fred Cushner Insall Scott Kelly Institute and North Shore-LIJ Orthopaedic Institute, New York, USA Dr Richard von Bormann Blaauwberg Hospital Capetown, South Africa Additional faculty will be communicated shortly
