About WALKATHON About the 65k 4 65 Roses Walkathon The 65K 4 65 Roses Walkathon was first held in 2008 as a community fundraising event for Cystic Fibrosis NSW. In the eight years since its inception over $800,000 has been raised for Cystic Fibrosis NSW and the Children s Hospital Westmead. The purpose of the event is to support Cystic Fibrosis (CF) in NSW. Walking 65K is tough but living with an incurable and lifeshortening illness is tougher. The 2017 event hopes to raise $300,000 and attract over 750 participants. To put these targets in perspective, the 2016 event raised $250,000 and attracted 452 participants. On both counts this was a 100% increase from the 2015 event. The 2017 65K 4 65 Roses Walkathon will take place on Saturday 25th February around the famous Bay Run spanning the foreshore of Drummoyne, Five Dock, Leichhardt and Rozelle.
