Tips for Success Thanks so much for your interest in my station signs. Stations are a great teaching strategy that we can take advantage of as teachers. Using these stations correctly will allow your students time to practice skill and give you the freedom to walk around the teaching space and give feedback to specific students, observe the different groups and assess skills and behaviors. I normally teach the content first and then use stations as a tool to review the content with your students and give them a chance to practice the skills and activities independently. However, sometimes I use stations as an instant activity to observe student's skill in a subject area before beginning a unit this gives me a better understanding of how to teach kids where they are and give them what they need to be successful. I've found that the more autonomy you give your students the more motivated they become and they will be more likely to take responsibility and ownership of their learning (one of my ultimate goals for kids). STEP 1 Print the stations STEP 2 Choose a few appropriate stations to introduce your students to STEP 3 Choose the best layout for setting up the stations in your teaching space STEP 4 Do a quick overview of the stations when your students arrive, demonstrate if needed STEP 5 Allow students to create their own groups by choosing a station sign to begin next to Eg.) "When I say go, you should walk to a station sign and stand next to it... there should be 2 3 people at each sign" STEP 6 Pump up the jams... with music playing walk around and offer refinements, participate with students and give feedback STEP 7 Have Fun and Teach On Note: These posters are developed along with a video course and training on Interval Timer Pro, which is the app I use to do HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) style workouts with my students.
