WORK EXPERIENCE 2011-present Graduate Research Assistant, Department of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research, School of Pharmacy, University of Maryland Advisor: Dr. Eberechukwu Onukwugha Title: Health economics outcomes studies in prostate cancer: Prostate Cancer SEER-Medicare project. Role: Research Assistant The study examined the relationships between health services utilization, treatments, and outcomes, including diagnosis of skeletal related events (SREs) and survival among elderly men diagnosed with prostate cancer. Project-related responsibilities: Conduct literature reviews. Develop study design and the statistical analysis plan to estimate the cost burden of SREs. Conduct statistical analysis. Develop manuscripts and poster presentations. Title: Race, environment, and medical decisions among prostate cancer patients. Funding provided by: American Cancer Society-Institutional Research Grant Role: Lead Research Assistant There is strong evidence of racial disparities in treatment receipt among men diagnosed with prostate cancer. Various patient, provider, and environmental factors have been proposed as contributors to these disparities. However, the influence of the patient s community environment as an independent and potentially confounding factor in health-related decisions among racially diverse men with prostate cancer has not been examined. Project-related responsibilities: Conduct literature reviews. Conduct statistical analysis. Assist in developing manuscripts and poster presentations. Title: Quality of Care: The Impact of Multidisciplinary Care on Processes and Outcomes of Cancer Care. Funding provided by: National Cancer Institute Role: Research Coordinator There is little evidence regarding the effect of multidisciplinary care (MDC) on health outcomes across various cancer sites, including colon, rectal, and lung cancer. The project addresses this gap by providing preliminary data regarding the relationship between MDC and selected processes and outcomes of care in fifteen NCCCP (National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program) pilot sites. The study focuses on adult patients with an incident diagnosis of Stage III colon cancer, Stage II or III rectal cancer, or Stage III non-small cell lung cancer. 3

Project-related responsibilities: Serve as the initial point of contact for communication with research team members at the fifteen participating community cancer centers. Disseminate monthly data reports to the participating institutions. Update study manuals and documentation. Conduct data analysis and statistical modelling. 2010-2011 Graduate Teaching Assistant, School of Pharmacy, University of Maryland 2010 Project Consultant, Health Action International, Amsterdam, Netherlands To create and evaluate a University based pharmacovigilence program involving consumers in collaboration with Universiti Sains Malaysia. Developed a network of educators to introduce courses in rational drug prescribing into undergraduate medical and pharmacy curricula in the Asia-Pacific region. Served as the advocacy campaign coordinator to remove irrational and harmful fixed dose combinations in the Asia-Pacific region.
