Six leading Swedish Universities have established the Swedish Academic Collaboration Forum (SACF), whose purpose is to facilitate international academic collaborations and enable researchers and research students to connect with the global research community. The SACF aims to create opportunities for collaborative exploration of critical global issues and links between enterprise and research through the search for innovation solutions. The SACF is holding seminars in Singapore to discuss Challenges within Urbanization. On behalf of SACF, the Department of Surgery at the National of Singapore is pleased to host the 2015 Singapore-Sweden Excellence Seminar to discuss on 4 Nov 2015. The 2015 Singapore-Sweden Excellence Seminar will cover an eclectic mix of topics spanning ageing societies, innovative ideas, biology of ageing, burden of chronic disease, healthcare services and health care systems, housing, policy as well as care for the elderly. The speakers will include leading researchers and domain experts from Chalmers of Technology, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Linköping, Lund, Stockholm, Business Region Göteborg AB, Agency for Science, Technology and Research, Geriatric Education and Research Institute - Alexandra Health System, Centre for Ageing Research & Education - Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Nanyang, National Health System, National Hospital, National of Singapore, Institute of Geriatrics and Active Ageing - Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore Management and Urban Redevelopment Authority. The seminar is open to all including faculty, clinicians, researchers, university students from all disciplines and the public who seek to learn more about the issues facing ageing societies in both the East and West. The seminar and networking lunch and tea sessions with leading domain experts in ageing will provide a unique and in-depth insight into the innovative solutions that address the gaps and needs in this challenging space.
