1 GENERAL SYMPOSIUM INFORMATION Profile The Worldwide Innovative Networking (WIN) Consortium invites you to support WIN 2013, the 5th WIN Symposium, to be held in Paris, July 10-12, 2013. This symposium will be the next in the successful series of annual meetings dedicated to personalized cancer medicine. WIN Consortium was created to accelerate the pace and reduce the cost of translating effective cancer treatments to the bedside. The overarching theme of WIN 2013 From innovation to implementation of personalized medicine reflects the mission of WIN Consortium. This year, more emphasis will be put on open discussions and networking between stakeholders in personalized cancer medicine. Therefore, ample discussion time has been reserved for each topic. The target audience includes everyone aiming for improvements in clinical outcome and quality of life of cancer patients by the implementation of innovative technologies, including targeted therapeutics, biomarkers, molecular diagnostics, systems biology approaches and other technologies serving personalized cancer medicine. The program will be of educational value to all healthcare professionals wishing to familiarize themselves with emerging innovations in cancer patient management. CME The WIN 2013 organizers plan submitting applications for CME credits for medical specialists by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) and the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Medical Oncologist s Recertification Approval (MORA). The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS). Through an agreement between the UEMS and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognized by the UEMS-EACCME for ECMEC credits are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The ESMO Medical Oncologist s Recertification Approval (MORA) is a CME certificate that allows ESMO members to remain certified in medical oncology. The WIN 2012 Symposium was designated for a maximum of 12 hours of European external CME credits and 17 ESMO MORA cat. 1 credits. WAYS TO SUPPORT WIN 2013 Invitation WIN Consortium, initiator and primary organizer of the WIN Symposium series, invites financial support from corporations, foundations, and other organizations to help defray the costs of organizing WIN 2013. Various attractive benefits are available to sponsoring and supporting entities. All sponsoring contributions will be considered unrestricted educational grants towards the WIN 2013 Symposium. Educational grants for which the grantor receives no specific benefits other than grant acknowledgements in association with WIN 2013 are also welcome. 3. POLICIES AND DISCLAIMER CONFIRMATION AND PAYMENT A sponsoring arrangement will be confirmed in writing between Congress by design, based in The Netherlands, acting on behalf of the WIN Consortium, based in France, and the sponsoring/supporting entity. An invoice with payment details will be sent to the sponsoring/supporting entity, and payment will then be expected within 4 weeks of invoice date. All amounts mentioned in this document are exclusive of VAT. VAT will be added as applicable according to tax legislation. EXHIBITION POLICY If benefits granted to the sponsor/supporter include the opportunity to exhibit at the Symposium venue, the sponsoring/supporting organization and its agent(s) must comply with the rules and regulations governing the Symposium exhibition, as detailed in the exhibition manual or imposed by the venue. The exhibition manual and rules and regulations imposed by the venue will be provided to sponsoring/supporting organizations at least 6 weeks before the opening date of the Symposium. CANCELLATION POLICY In case of cancellation of a sponsoring arrangement by the sponsoring organization, a cancellation fee of 25% of the total agreed sponsoring fee applies if the cancellation notice is received more than three months before the opening date of WIN 2013. If the cancellation notice is received three months or less before the opening date of the Symposium, a cancellation fee of 100% of the total agreed sponsoring fee applies. Cancellation notices must be sent in writing to the Symposium Secretariat. DISCLAIMER Funding for WIN 2013 is requested solely on behalf of the WIN Consortium, not its partners. Any grants/fees provided by sponsoring/supporting organizations will go toward defraying the expenses of WIN Consortium in direct relation to offering the WIN 2013 symposium.
