CONFERENCE OVERVIEW As the first contact by a patient, the primary care physician s practice incorporates management of a variety of acute and chronic illnesses and complex, multi-system diseases, as well as preventive care. This conference, designed by primary care physicians for primary care physicians, will educate and enhance physician knowledge, competence and performance in a broad range of therapeutic areas commonly encountered in the primary care practice. Participants will be given opportunities for interaction with course faculty, who have been selected by the conference planning committee for their expertise, knowledge and clinical acumen. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES Practice techniques on to manage challenging life demands and how to establish a healthy balance in life. Relate how new technology can help in everyday practice, and apply techniques learned in patient care. Recognize how to manage peripheral pains in primary care office before referring for surgical intervention. Identify symptoms in patients and determine when a Neurosurgical referral is necessary. Recognize pediatric emergencies and manage them in the primary care office. Initiate the appropriate preventive strategies for a wide variety of outpatient infectious diseases. Recognize current trends in travel related diseases to prevent, diagnosis and manage patients. Achieve knowledge to manage severe obstructive lung diseases. Effectively counsel and manage patients with new strategies on smoking cessation. Utilize effective evaluation tools and tests for recognizing and treating common lung diseases. Identify the new changes to MACRA and other Medicare rules and regulations and adapt these changes to your practice. Diagnose and management of common female urological problems including overactive bladder. Updated information on diagnose and management the most common male urological disorders. Identify best uses of ECG and Echo in primary care office. Learn how to diagnose and manage arrhythmias in everyday primary care practice.
