Nurses and other members of the care team may also find it beneficial. Conference overview Primary care clinicians are often the 1st point of contact in the health care system and play a major role in helping patients manage musculoskeletal conditions. Having up-to-date knowledge, practice guidelines and medical skills empowers primary care clinicians to provide accessible, costeffective care and improve patient outcomes. From Head and Shoulders to Knees and Toes: An Orthopedic Update for Primary Care offers practical approaches to orthopedic problems and addresses the newest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. The conference features new topics on carpel tunnel syndrome, common fingertip injuries, musculoskeletal imaging, chronic pain, ACL injuries and the top 5 upper- and lowerextremity pearls, and special sessions on Triathlon of Sports Medicine and It s All about the Spine. Customized learning is possible by attending hands-on basic, advanced and pediatric examination sessions, splinting workshops, optional lunch-and-learn sessions and an early-bird session on kinesiology taping. Educational objectives Following this learning activity, participants will be able to: Discuss the evaluation and management protocols of upper- and lower-extremity injuries and other acute and chronic conditions Evaluate treatment options for common orthopedic conditions Apply strategies to competently perform shoulder, elbow, hand, wrist, knee, foot and ankle examinations, administer injections and splint the upper- and lower-extremities Registration Registration includes continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments.
