frequently asked questions If some of my team members register using the paper form, will they show up on my team page at WalkForLifeColumbia.org? Only those who register online will show up on your team page. Encourage your team members to register online so you can see your fundraising thermometer grow! I am an employee of Palmetto Health. May I pay the registration fee via payroll deduction? Absolutely! Click here to get started. Your registration fee will be processed and deducted via payroll deduct after you register. How many people are needed to form a team? It only takes five people to form a team, but we suggest adding a few more friends and family members so you ll have plenty of walking/running buddies. What is expected of me if I register as a team captain? It is all up to you. We would hope that as your team s captain you would set a fundraising goal, encourage your team to meet that goal and help us spread the word that all funds raised will stay within our community. Also, as a team captain, we ask that you attend the Team Packet Pick-Up Day, on Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., where you can pick up your team members T-shirts and runners chips/bibs. Can my team include both walkers and runners? Of course! There are some differences though: runners will receive a specific bib and timing chip. The good news is that the most important part is the same for every participant you all are doing your part to take steps against breast cancer! May I register multiple people with one transaction? Sure! If you choose to register multiple people, we need your help to complete the Multiple Person Waiver Form, which can be found on the Walk Details and Race Details pages of WalkForLifeColumbia.org. These forms will need to be turned in when you pick up your T-shirts. If you are registering people after you have completed your own registration, you must log out by clicking the log out button in the top right corner of the screen. Where can I park the morning of the Walk/Race? You can download and view a parking map, as well as a schedule of events, at WalkForLifeColumbia.org. May I bring my dog? Unfortunately, NO. We love dogs (and cats!) just as much as the next person, but they are not allowed at the event. May I bring a bag into Spirit Communications Park? For your safety and the safety of other participants, please only bring bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12 by 6 by 12. One-gallon freezer bags are also OK. Any other bags could be subject to security check. Can I walk/run with a jogging stroller? Yes, jogging strollers are allowed. We feel it s never too early to introduce your little one to fundraising for a good cause. Parts of the course are gravel, however, so please use caution and watch your step. Are children required to pay the registration fee? Children older than 5 must register. Children 5 and under may participate at no charge. Are there toddler shirt sizes available? Definitely! We would never leave out our tiny participants. Toddler T-shirts are available for $15 each at Palmetto Health Foundation. Sizes include 2T, 3T and 4T. What s the difference in all of these different forms you keep referring to? Glad you asked!
