Provider guide

Accessing the Provider mode screens Accessing Provider mode unlocks settings that cannot be modified by the user. To access Provider mode: 1. ce the device is powered, press and hold both the control dial and the ramp button on the device for at least 5 seconds. 2. You are now in Provider mode. You can choose between the following Provider mode screens. Therapy settings Comfort settings Device settings Info Patient menu return Press and hold both the control dial and the ramp button for at least 5 seconds

Navigating the Provider mode screens Note: The display is not a touch screen. You must use the control dial to navigate the device menu. To adjust a setting: 1. Rotate the control dial to your desired menu option. 2. Press the control dial to select that setting.. Rotate the control dial to change the setting. 4. Press the control dial again to save the change. Note: The rotate dial icon on any screen indicates to rotate the dial to perform an action. The click dial icon on any screen indicates to press the dial to perform an action. Note: Pressing the dial when the down arrow appears on any screen will take you to a sub-menu with more menu options. Pressing the dial when the up arrow appears on any sub-menu will return you back to the main menu. IMPORTANT! This guide provides you with instructions on how to access and navigate the provider screens used to modify device settings. Refer to the User Manual for more information on using the sleep therapy devices. The device is to be used only on the instruction of a licensed physician. The home care provider will make the correct pressure settings and device configurations including accessories, according to the health care professional s prescription. If you need to contact Philips Respironics directly, call the Philips Respironics Customer Service department at 1-800-45-644 or 1-724-87-4000. Note: Not all settings shown here will display on the device. The display will vary based on therapy device model and device settings.

CPAP Check/CPAP Therapy settings Choosing this screen will take you to a sub-menu where you can adjust the device therapy modes and pressure settings. These settings are described here. Mode Depending on the therapy device model, you can select CPAP mode, CPAP-Check (C-Check) mode, Auto-CPAP (Auto) mode. A-Trial Enables the device to deliver Auto-CPAP therapy for a selectable number of days of patient use. /. EZ-Start Reduces the therapy pressure for the first few days of operation and the device automatically gradually increases this setting until the prescription therapy pressure is reached. /. Pressure Adjust the CPAP pressure, or the CPAP-Check mode starting pressure. Select from 4 to 20 cm H 2 AutoCPAP Mode Depending on the therapy device model, you can select CPAP mode, CPAP-Check (C-Check) mode, Auto- CPAP (Auto) mode. Opti-Start Starts Auto CPAP at a pressure closer to the previous 90% pressure. /. Auto Min Adjust the minimum pressure setting. Displays if Auto-CPAP mode is enabled or if the Auto- Trial feature is available and enabled. Select from 4-20 cm H 2 Auto Max Modify the Auto maximum pressure. ly displays if Auto-CPAP mode is enabled or if the Auto-Trial feature is available and enabled. Select from 4-20 cm H 2 Note: When A-Trial is on, screen will indicate # of days -0. EZ Start is unavailable when A-Trial is on.

BiPAPS Fixed Bi-Level Bi-Level Depending on the therapy device model, you can select Bi-Level mode, or Auto Bi- Level (AutoB) mode. IPAP Adjust the IPAP setting, ranging from the EPAP setting 4-25 cm H 2 EPAP Adjust the EPAP setting, ranging from 4-25 cm H 2 Auto Bi-Level AutoB Depending on the therapy device model, you can select Bi-Level mode, or Auto Bi-Level (AutoB) mode. IPAP Max When Auto Bi-level mode is enabled you can modify the Maximum IPAP setting to specify the maximum level of pressure applied during the inspiratory breath phase. Select from 4-25 cm H 2 EPAP Min When Auto Bi-level mode is enabled you can modify the EPAP setting to specify the minimum level of pressure applied during the expiratory breath phase. Select from 4-25 cm H 2 PS Min When Auto Bi-level mode is enabled you can modify the Minimum Pressure Support setting to specify the minimum difference that is permitted between IPAP and EPAP. Select from 0-8 cm H 2 PS Max When Auto Bi-level mode is enabled you can modify the Maximum Pressure Support setting to specify the maximum difference that is permitted between IPAP and EPAP. Select from 0-8 cm H 2 Note: Not all settings shown here will display on the device. The display will vary based on therapy device model and device settings.

Comfort settings Choosing this screen will take you to a sub-menu where you can adjust the humidification and pressure comfort settings. These settings are described here. Humidification Select the Humidification Mode between Fixed or (A) Humidification when a nonheated tube is used. Note that the device will automatically operate in Heated Tube Humidification Mode when a heated tube is connected, so that mode does not need to be selected in the menu. Select Fixed or (A) Humidification. Humidifier Choose the humidity setting for the humidifier. Select from 0-5. Tube Temperature Choose the temperature for the heated tube. Select from 0-5. SmartRamp SmartRamp utilizes an Auto titrating algorithm which can offer patients lower pressures to enhance comfort during the ramp period. /. Ramp Time Adjust the time it takes the device to reach therapeutic pressure. Select from 0-45 minutes. Ramp Start Increase or decrease the Ramp starting pressure in 0.5 cm H 2 O increments. Select from 4-20 cm H 2 Flex Comfort mode settings include None, C-Flex, or C-Flex+ (if in CPAP or CPAP-Check mode). You can select None, or A-Flex (if in Auto-CPAP or Auto- Trial mode). You can select Bi-Flex in BiLevel or Auto BiLevel mode. Flex Settings Adjust Flex setting. Select from 1, 2 or.

Tube Type Select the correct size diameter tubing that you are using with the device. When using Heated Tubing, the setting will automatically change to the appropriate tubing type (15H). Select from 15mm to 22mm. Tube Type Lock The Tubing type setting can be locked if you do not want the patient to change it. /. Mask Type Select the appropriate Mask Type resistance setting to adjust the level of pressure compensation to match your Philips Respironics mask. Refer to the mask cushion for resistance setting. Select from 0 (off), X1, X2, X, X4 or X5. BiPAP only Mask Type Lock This enables you to lock the Mask Type resistance setting if you do not want the patient to change it. /. Check Mask Fit Enable the Check Mask Fit option, allowing patients to check the fit of their mask with a visual fit indicator prior to starting therapy. /. Rise Time Adjust the Rise Time for the device to change from EPAP to IPAP. ly available if Flex has been disabled and the device is in Bi-level or Auto Bi-level mode. Select from 0, 1, 2 or. Automatic When enabled the device will automatically turn the airflow on whenever the device detects a patient breathing on it. /. Clear Default Reminders Turns off the default patient reminders that are enabled in the therapy device from the factory. /. Info settings The Info screen will take you to a sub-menu where you can view information on patient usage. Phone In Displays the therapy start date, check sum, total therapy and blower hours and total sessions that were greater than 4 hours since last reset. A compliance check number validates the data. Compliance Displays the start date, check code and the cumulative number of days therapy sessions exceeded 4 hours. VIC90 This Visual Inspection Check screen will display a check code number created from information gathered over the most recent 90-day period. Days Greater Than 4 This screen displays the cumulative number of device therapy sessions that exceeded 4 hours over 1-day, 7-day, and 0-day time frames. Therapy Hours Displays the amount of time the patient is actually receiving therapy on the device for the most recent 1and 0-day time frames. Device Hours Displays the number of hours that the blower has been active over the life of the device.

Mask Fit Displays the Fit value (100% minus the large leak %) for the most recent 1, 7 and 0-day time frames. AHI Displays the Apnea/Hypopnea indices (AHI) for the last session the patient used the device as well as the average of individual nightly AHI values over a 7 and 0-day time frames. Periodic Breathing Displays the nightly value of periodic breathing for the most recent 1-day time frame as well as the average of individual nightly values of periodic breathing over 7 and 0-day time frames. AutoCPAP only BiPAP only 90% Pressure Displays the nightly value of 90% Pressure for the most recent 1-day time frame. It also displays the average of these individual nightly values of 90% Pressure over a 7-day and a 0-day time frame (provided the device has at least 7 or 0 days of data respectively). If the device has only 5 days of data, the 5-day average value will be seen under the 7-day display. This screen only displays if the device is in Auto- CPAP or Auto-Trial therapy mode. IPAP: 90% Pressure Displays the value of 90% inhalation pressure for the most recent 1 day, as well as the average values over the last 7 days and 0 days. Available on the Auto BiPAP model. EPAP: 90% Pressure Displays the value of 90% exhalation pressure for the most recent 1 day, as well as the average values over the last 7 days and 0 days. Available on the Auto BiPAP model.
