Larger organizations (2,500 or more employees) are more likely to conduct preemployment drug testing for all job candidates compared with smaller organizations (fewer than 2,500 employees). Publicly owned for profit organizations are more likely to conduct pre employment drug testing for all job candidates compared with privately owned organizations, nonprofit organizations and government agencies. What is a dilute specimen?
Understanding dilute specimens Dilute: A dilute specimen is one where the creatinine and specific gravity levels are lower than expected for human urine. 2 types of Negative Dilutes: 1) Negative, Dilute (Minor): Creatinine greater than 5 mg/dl but less than 20 mg/dl 2) Negative, Dilute (Major): Creatinine > 2 mg/dl but > to 5 mg/dl and specific gravity > 1.0010 but < 1.0030. Depending on the type of Negative Dilute (DOT or Non DOT, Major or Minor Dilute) the MRO will recommend an immediate recollection under direct observation, or suggest a recollection.
