Adult Psychiatric Services Our adult psychiatric programs emphasize resolution of acute psychiatric symptoms, formation of a proper medication regimen and focused interventions addressing the central recurring problems associated with the presenting illness. Partial Care Program During the most acute phases of psychiatric Illness, patients often require an intensively structured treatment intervention. The Partial Care Program at High Focus offers a comprehensive, multi-modal approach that gives these patients the best chance of remission of symptoms and a return to baseline functioning. The treatment regimen includes individual therapy, group therapy, family counseling, psychiatric evaluation, medication management and psychiatric nursing services. The highly individualized program consists of: 5 day per week schedule, 5.5 hours per day. 5 group sessions per day. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills group every day. 3 individual sessions every week (1 with therapist, 1 with psychiatrist, 1 family session). 2 way transportation (if necessary). The IOP at High Focus Centers allows functional patients to do that, while still engaging in structured programming. It also provides a step-down in the continuum for patients who have completed the Partial Care Program. These individuals will remain with their original treatment team for increased stability and continuity of care. The IOP treatment regimen includes: 2-5 days per week schedule, 3 hours per day. 3 group sessions per day. Trauma Intensive Outpatient Program In many cases, an occurrence of psychiatric symptoms can be traced back to a traumatic experience earlier in one s life. The first priority in such situations is to address the symptoms and ensure that the individual is stable. At that point, the best course of action is often a structured and ongoing treatment regimen that addresses the common struggles in patients who have experienced significant trauma. The High Focus Centers Trauma Intensive Outpatient Program uses a Dialectical Behavior Therapy informed treatment modality integrated with Seeking Safety. Patients in the Trauma IOP are given the education and skill set necessary to effectively process past, present, and future challenges and deal with them in a more productive manner. Evidence based techniques are utilized in giving patients the tools they need to work towards healthier interpersonal relationships and emotional stability.
Co-Occurring Disorders Many individuals experience both substance abuse and psychiatric disorders simultaneously. The initial assessment at High Focus is designed to identify the nuances that these patients present with and offer a proper diagnosis so that the optimal treatment course can be pursued. Once diagnosed, these patients face unique challenges which must be addressed with a truly comprehensive treatment regimen that can focus on both issues. At High Focus Centers, dually diagnosed patients are successfully treated in specialized daily groups designed specifically for their needs. Psychiatrists with an expertise in addiction medicine are key members of our treatment teams, providing services and directing interventions as indicated. Family Programs The needs of the family are always addressed at High Focus Centers and are often a critical factor in successful treatment. Our family programs include psycho-education, support and multi-family therapy. These programs, particularly in our psychiatric programs, are augmented by individual family sessions throughout the course of treatment. All family services are provided at no charge because we know that they are a critical component to the successful treatment of many patients, and our goal Is to provide as much family participation as possible.
