Western States Chiropractic College Chiropractic Program Chiropractic students undergo a rigorous course of study similar to that of other health care professionals. Entrance requirements are also similar. Students are required to complete a minimum of three years of university before they are eligible for admission to the WSCC accredited program. In fact, over 80 per cent of students entering the WSCC program have completed a baccalaureate degree. The WSCC program requires four years of full-time study, including a year-long internship in the College s clinic. In addition to the academic program, chiropractic education requires hands-on clinical experience under the direct supervision of highly qualified chiropractic faculty. This experience includes clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and referral protocols. The faculty at WSCC has diverse backgrounds and offers students a wide range of expertise. Faculty comes from such disciplines as biological sciences, pathology, medicine and psychology, as well as chiropractic. The WSCC program includes courses in anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, neurology, embryology, principles of chiropractic, radiology, immunology, microbiology, pathology, nutrition, obstetrics, gynecology, proctology, minor surgery, and clinical sciences specifically relating to diagnosis. In particular, chiropractors receive training in radiology, which covers a range of topics from radiation biophysics and protection to clinical x- ray interpretation and diagnosis. Radiology training consists of more than 360 contact hours followed by application during clinical internship. Admissions Requirements This is an outline of the prerequisite standards established by the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE): 1. Cumulative GPA and Total s: A minimum of 90 semester or 135 quarter credits with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale for all prerequisite courses. 2. Basic Science Requirements: Biology

At least 6 semester or 9 quarter credits of biology with related laboratories Chemistry A minimum of 12 semester or 18 quarter credits of chemistry distributed in the following areas: At least 3 semester or 4.5 quarter credits of inorganic chemistry 3 semester or 4.5 quarter credits of other chemistry At least 6 semester or 9 quarter credits of organic/biochemistry At least 6 semester or 9 quarter credits must include laboratories. Physics and Related Studies At least 3 semester or 4.5 quarter credits of physics with related laboratory At least 3 semester or 4.5 quarter credits of physics or biomechanics or statistics or exercise physiology or related kinesiology WSCC recommends a full-year sequence of the science prerequisites as the best preparation for the chiropractic curriculum. No grades below a 2.0 (C) may be accepted for admission. 3. Social Sciences and Humanities: At least 24 semester credits (or 36 quarter) in the humanities and social sciences, including the specific requirements below: English Language Skills Six semester (9 quarter) credits.
