JANUARY Wednesday January 13 th Town Hall, Pontypridd The first concert of the year, before 600 people at the Pontypridd Town Hall, saw the Choir share the stage with soprano Betti Jones, bass Richard Rees and compere for the evening was Alun Williams. Friday January 29 th Top Rank Cinema, Cardiff The Choir s appearance at the Top Rank was before a small crowd of 200 people. FEBRUARY Friday February 19 th Rehearsal Room, Treorchy The Choir made an overseas programme recording with compere Norman Williams. Saturday February 20 th British Nylon Hall, Pontypool Organised by the British Nylon Spinners Sports and Social Club, the concert also featured Sam Griffiths and Maldwyn Phillips. MARCH Saturday March 13 th Cory Hall, Cardiff A concert organised by the Cardiff Olympic Youth Team also featured demonstrations by the Welsh Gymnastic Team. Friday March 19 th Polikoff s Hall, Treorchy The Choir made an All Together programme with presenter Alun Williams and also featuring Betti Jones and John Morgan. Thursday March 25 th Nazareth Church, Mountain Ash For the concert in Mountain Ash the Choir was joined by Gaynor Jones and Elwyn Gildas Williams. Tuesday March 30 th The Choir made a recording for BBC. APRIL Thursday April 1 st Methodist Church, Rogerstone For the concert in Rogerstone the Choir was joined by Lillian Hackett, Meryl Evans and Norma Hale.

Thursday April 8 th Zion Chapel, Llwynypia A concert was held to raise funds for Zion Renovation Fund featuring Elvira Henry and Sam Griffiths. Saturday April 24 th Shire Hall, Hereford The Choir made its first visit to the Shire Hall to perform with Sam Griffiths and Maldwyn Phillips. MAY Saturday May 1 st Winter Gardens, Malvern The Choir appeared at the Winter Gardens with Sam Griffiths and Maldwyn Phillips. Monday May 3 rd Oak Tree Hall, Treorchy The Choir made an All Together broadcast with Alun Williams and John Morgan. Saturday May 8 th College of Advanced Technology, Cardiff A concert was held in the presence of HRH Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent in aid of the St Johns Ambulance fund Sunday May 23 rd Eisteddfod Concert Hall, Cardigan The Choir appeared in a concert as part of the Cardigan Festival Gwyl Fawr Aberteifi which featured Gwyneth Jones (soprano), Derek Garside (cornet) and John Holmes (bass). Tuesday May 25 th Oak Tree Hall, Treorchy The Choir made an All Together broadcast with Stuart Burrows and John Morgan. Thursday May 27 th Methodist Church, Ystrad The Choir appeared with Agnes Jenkins Griffiths and Roy Meredith for the concert in Ystrad. Friday June 4 th Oak Tree Hall, Treorchy The Choir made a recording for the BBC. JUNE Tuesday June 15 th The Choir made their second 33rpm Long Player album called Valley Sings Again.

Wednesday June 16 th The Choir made their second 33rpm Long Player album called Valley Sings Again. Saturday June 26 th Grammar School, Pembroke The Choir appeared with Sam Griffiths and Maldwyn Phillips on their first visit to this venue. JULY Thursday July 15 th John Cynan Jones was made Associate Conductor and Accompanist. Saturday July 177 th Sandfields School, Port Talbot A concert was held in aid of the Cambrian Colliery Disaster Fund, featuring the Cory and Mid Rhondda Bands under the direction of Dennis Wright. SEPTEMBER Saturday September 18 th Mark Hall School, Harlow The Choir shared the stage with Elvira Henry and Sam Griffiths on their return visit to Harlow. Wednesday September 22 nd Memorial Hall, Barry The Choir gave two performances at the Barry Memorial Hall to celebrate the opening of the BBC 2. Fellow artists included Margaret Price, Geraint Evans, Donald Houston, Osian Ellis and the BBC Welsh Orchestra. Wednesday September 29 th The Strand Cinema, Llantwit Major Their first visit to this venue with Sam Griffiths and Herbert Jones. OCTOBER Saturday October 2 nd Ninian Park, Cardiff Once again the Choir led the congregational singing with the Mid Rhondda Workmen s Band at the Wales vs England football international.

Friday October 7 th City Hall, Cardiff The Choir appeared at the Oddfellows Dinner. Saturday October 16 th Town Hall, Birmingham The Choir undertook its sixth visit thanks to the kind invitation of the Cymmrodorion Society. Also on stage was April Contello and Sam Griffiths. Thursday October 21 st James Smith Theatre, Rhymney The Choir shared the stage with the Rhymney Youth and Hoovers Social Club Bands. Saturday October 30 th Town Hall, Acton Associate Conductor John Cynan Jones led his first full concert at the Town Hall in Acton. Sunday October 31 st Town Hall, Ealing The weekend visit to London saw the Choir perform in Ealing with soloists Sam Griffiths and Herbert Jones. NOVEMBER Wednesday November 3 rd EMI Factory, Treorchy The Choir broadcast an All Together radio programme with Trevor Anthony and John Morgan. Thursday November 11 th Salem Baptist Chapel, Porth Elvira Henry and Herbert Jones appeared with the Choir on their visit to Porth. Sunday November 21 st Wood Street Church, Cardiff The Choir performed with the Salvation Army Band. Tuesday November 23 rd The Choir made a BBC recording of Christmas music. Thursday November 25 th Blaencwm Chapel, Treherbert The Choir s 500 th Concert since it was reformed in 1946. They shared the stage with Sam Griffiths and Herbert Jones.

DECEMBER Thursday December 2 nd Horeb Chapel, Treherbert The Choir appeared in a retirement evening for Dr Hughes and Dr Hockaday. Also on stage was contralto M.A.Williams, William Roberts (tenor) and Ivor Jones (baritone). Saturday December 4 th Ebenezer Chapel, Abertillery The Choir helped raise funds for the Abertillery RFC Floodlighting Fund with Elvira Henry and Herbert Jones.
