Chinook Chapter Heritage Club Presidents Message Hi to everyone, 2018 Spring Edition Issue #40 I sincerely hope that all of you have survived our long and cold winter this year. Unfortunately, although the Calendar says it is Spring Old Man Winter still has his grip on us. I for one am really tired of shoveling snow, but hopefully that will be over soon and we can get down to enjoying all that Spring brings; nice warm weather, lighter clothing and Spring flowers. I hope everyone had a great and Happy Easter enjoying this wonderful Holiday with Family and Friends. We want to thank ARPE, now in their 31 st year, for continuing their monthly Luncheons and including us. If you have not attended a Luncheon with us yet, please come on out and enjoy one. It is always fun, you can eat a great meal and spend some time with former colleagues and friends. Enjoy your Spring and all the best to each of you until next time. We have had some of our members ask why we include Volunteer hours on our Annual Membership Renewal form. The Heritage Club s motto is People Helping People and every member who Volunteers their time helps to keep our motto alive and support our Club. Canada Post also provides funding to our club every year partially based on our Volunteer hours. So, as of March 31,2018 a total of 12,834 hours were reported and we want to thank the 62 Chapter members who reported these hours. If any member has any pictures or stories they would like to send into us regarding your volunteer services please send them along and we will publish them in our next newsletter. On Sunday, March 4th, 36 of our Chapter members attended the Stage West production of Baskerville. It was very well received from the members who attended. As requested by several of our members we changed up the format and attended a Brunch this time. Stage West did not disappoint. The food as always was superb and the play was quite good. Five actors portraying close to 40 characters is quite a feat. We are anticipating another Stage West event later this Summer or early Fall. The club gets a great group rate and we also subsidize the event for all attending members, so if you have not attended an event with us yet, think about attending. It is always a good time. Further details to follow in our next newsletter. 3
