Dear Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Mouse, My name is Jeff Davis, and I m a huge fan of both of you. I was born on August 22, 1984 in Mission Viejo, CA, just miles away from your home in Toontown, CA. I ve visited you often over the years, and both of you have been a huge part of my life and the lives of everyone in my family. In 2010, my sister Erica got married, something that no one in my family thought would happen as Erica was born with Downs Syndrome. As she and her husband, Ben, both have special needs, my parents and I went with them on their honeymoon to Walt Disney World so they wouldn t be alone. Since the wedding was in May the start of the hot and humid season in Florida we opted to postpone the honeymoon to October. While I was in a relationship when Erica and Ben married, I was single (and bitter) by the time the honeymoon rolled around. I hated being single again after a 2 year relationship, and I was angry and deflated, but going on that trip and seeing my sister so happy and so in love reinvigorated my faith that I d be able to find my dream guy. A little while later, in the winter of 2012, I met my Prince Charming, an incredible man named Jeff Knoll (yes, we re both named Jeff). I fell in love quickly, and I immediately wanted to introduce him to my family. The place of such an important introduction? Disneyland, of course. After a fun-filled day in the park, my dad who rarely says anything about my love life pulled me aside, gave me a thumbs up, and said This one s special. Well, maybe it wasn t This one s special as much as This one s waaaayyyy better than your ex, but either way, it was special to me. It s been four years. Jeff and I now live in Austin, TX, but we re still very close to my family, and our family s Disney fandom is still very strong. My sister and her husband are celebrating their 6 th Anniversary this year, and my parents are celebrating their 40 th Anniversary. A few months ago, Jeff and I got a call from my parents asking if we d want to celebrate the dual anniversaries in Walt Disney World again, this time with all 6 of us plus my dad s sister, Nancy. We immediately said yes, and as soon as I found a moment away from Jeff, I called my parents and my sister and asked if they d think I d be stealing their thunder if I were to propose on the vacation as well. Needless to say, they enthusiastically jumped on board. I immediately started to look for the perfect place to propose. I knew that on our first day in the resort, October 5 th 2016, we d be visiting the Magic Kingdom, and I d want to propose that day so we could celebrate for the rest of the trip (and so I wouldn t be anxiously awaiting the moment all week). Eventually, I found the perfect spot in one of the most unlikely and unexpected of places. I ve always loved the Walt Disney quote, It all started with a mouse, and it dawned on me that if we were to visit Mickey in his dressing room on Main Street first thing in the morning, I could propose in front of Mickey himself. If all went well, Jeff and I could say for the rest of our lives that it all started with a mouse.
Mickey, while I m not asking for or expecting anything special (you ve already done so much for me, my family, and my future fiancée), I wanted to thank you in advance for being a part of such a special moment. My family and I can t wait to see you at approximately 9am on October 5 th! If either of you feel inclined to respond, please keep in mind that Jeff Knoll knows nothing of the elaborate proposal plan, and I would like to keep it that way. The best way to contact me would be through any of the following: Call my cell, 949-294-1172 E-mail me at work, jeff.davis@mammothrecruiting.com Write back to my parent s home address: Jeff Davis c/o Kathy & Larry Davis 25652 Minoa Dr. Mission Viejo, CA 92691 Thank you once again for bringing so much happiness and joy into my life and for being a part of my proposal to my Prince Charming!
