Structural elements of FIX-A-TOX Basic mechanism of action: NOT ONLY simply absorption (based on electrically charged cations/anions; electrostatic forces are rather weak; binding is reversible) Countless number of micropores of the crystals exert a capillary force like a sponge Incorporated substances enter into a chemical linkage with impurities (free radicals, hydroxy-groups, uncoordinated metals) of the crystals which now is stable and irreversible Impurities and spatial structure of the carefully chosen blend of crystals in FIX-A.TOX are designed to obtain optimum mycotoxin binding features Clinical Trials with Fix-A-Tox: The efficacy of mycotoxin binding agents can essentially only be demonstrated in animal experiments: Trial results exist from studies in pigs (and also for selected parameters in boar sperm) investigating the influence of FIX-A-TOX on reproduction and growth rates. page 3 of 7

Ing. Margit Werther and Prof. Dr. sc. Achim Strey, Berlin, 1996 Published in Die Mühle und Mischfuttertechnik, 133. Jahrgang, Heft 48, 28. November 1996 (* at that time without DON. The DON binding rate has been investigated 1998 by the same institute) Adsorption characteristics of FIX-A-TOX with regard to vitamins and trace elements For methodological reasons, it was not possible to quantitatively investigate vitamin bonding in the above experiment. Nonetheless, over a decade of experience gathered through the use of FIX-A-TOX in large-scale animal husbandry operations with massive mycotoxins problems can be regarded as a long-term study. Since there has never been even the faintest evidence of avitaminosis, one can draw a scientifically valid conclusion that no significant nutritional-physiological binding of vitamins occurs. Due to its aluminosilicate structure, any irreversible adsorption of trace elements can be excluded. These remain freely available to animal at any time. Conclusion of Prof. Dr. sc. Achim Strey First of all, the results generally confirm the good capability of binding mycotoxines conceded to FIX-A-TOX. The strongest absorption has been observed with the Aflatoxins. Regardless the ph-values and how long they were exposed to FIX-A-TOX, the absorption of all the Aflatoxins was nearly quantitative (between 89 and 100%). All in all it can be concluded from this pilot test that FIX-A-TOX has a good to excellent potential for absorption of mycotoxines. Especially the effect on Aflatoxines is of eminent importance. page 4 of 7

The relationship between the amount of AFB1 ingested and quantity of AFM1 in milk is quite variable. In some cases, the intake by dairy cows of AFB1 below the tolerance level led to excretion of AFM1 in milk above the EC tolerance limit. taken from: J.
