WELCOME TEAM CAPTAIN! The mission of Susan G. Komen s Fête de la Vie, a celebration of life, is saving lives. This event is part Race, part festival. Join us Saturday, March 19 th as we celebrate life and Race for the Cure. The celebration will include a breakfast, 5K race, after party with live music, a cook-off competition, children s activities, and so much more! The TEAM CAPTAIN acts as the contact person, promotes participation, sets fundraising goals, and assits member with registration. Being a TEAM CAPTAIN is a great way to bring together a group of people to make a difference in our community. Thank You TIP 1 RALLY Tell your donors you are 100% committed to Fête de la Vie and running breast cancer out of town. TIP 2 GIVE Inspire and encourage others to give by donating to your efforts first! Make a KICK-OFF donation. TIP 3 GET PERSONAL Craft YOUR story about why you Fête. Your participant center provides templates to get started. The more personal you make it the more people can relate with their own experiences. You ll use your story throughout fundraising and recruiting. * TIP 4 ASK If you don t ask, you shall not receive. Cast a wide net donations don t always come from where you expect. * TIP 5 GRATITUDE Say THANK YOU early and often. Update your donors regularly on any progress and the impact you are making together. * TIP 6 SOCIALIZE Maximize your efforts by using social media to spread your message. You ll receive a surprising amount of support from Facebook postings, Tweets, Instagram photos and Pinterest boards!
