All Hearit products are designed to be easy to use, powerful and robust. The renowned sound quality and reliability which Hearit is known for is consistent in all models. Open battery cover and remove old batteries and put in new batteries. Make sure they face the right direction, as shown by the diagram in the battery compartment. Close the cover and check that the indicator lamp lights when you turn on Hearit. caring for your Hearit Handle your Hearit with care. Do not submerge in water. Clean with a cloth or sponge moistened with washing up liquid or synthetic detergent. You can remove the pads on the headphones and clean separately if necessary. troubleshooting Hearit is silent Check that the headphones are connected to the correct jack. See point 2. page 7 Make sure that the sound is turned on. See point 4. page 8 Check that the batteries are correctly inserted. See point 1. page 7 The batteries may be dead. Try new ones. Hearit whistles Most hearing aids are sensitive to feedback if the microphone is too close to the headphones. Increase the distance or lower the volume. 11

troubleshooting Other disturbances All electronic equipment and especially sound amplifiers such as radio/tv sets, tape recorders, hearing aids etc. may be affected by radio waves and magnetic fields. E.g. Hearit may be disturbed by mobile phones (type GSM and others) used within 2-3 meters distance from the amplifier. The disturbance appears as a tone or a buzzing sound. It is not harmful but may lead to a deteriorated sound recording. To achieve the best function of the Hearit it should thus not be used in close proximity of a digital mobile phone. If you still have trouble after trying the ideas above please contact your local supplier (see information on back cover). 12
