What is Relay For Life? Relay For Life is a fun and moving 24 hour (overnight) experience that raises vital funds for Cancer Council s research, prevention and support services
When is Relay For Life? WHEN 21 & 22 October 2017 TIME 9.30am Saturday to 9.30am Sunday WHERE Alexandra Park, East Albury
Brief History The global movement started in 1985, in Tacoma, Washington USA by Dr Gordy Klatt. Raised US$27k walking a track for 24hrs raising awareness of cancer. Now celebrated in 29 Countries and 6,000 communities around the world.

Local History Started in 2002 at the Albury Showgrounds; with 375 participants and raised $60, 561 Last year Border had over 2,800 participants and raised $417, 000 2016 Border Relay For Life remained the biggest fundraising relay in Australia in terms of dollars and the biggest relay in NSW, for participants numbers.

Where does the money go? Each year CCNSW invests approximately $15 million into world class research. In August 2016, CCNSW purchased a vehicle and launched Transport 2 Treatment program. Since being launched over 450 trips have been made! The Cancer Council Information and Support line 13 11 20. Approximately 590 calls are made each year from our region. Legal and financial services over 1,000 families have been assisted, equating to approximately $2.2m in support The Cancer Council Information Service operating within the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre
Where does the money go? SunSmart On the Border, over 90 % of Schools and over 86% of Childcare Centres are SunSmart SunSound In the Border region 13 pools are SunSound Improve your Long Game a skin cancer prevention program running at Albury Commercial Club Golf Resort, Thurgoona Golf Club, Corowa Golf Club and Deniliquin Golf Club.
