COURSE DESCRIPTION This workshop is designed to provide practitioners and residents in the field of reconstructive and cosmetic surgery a comprehensive demonstration and training in soft tissue reconstruction of the face as well as surgical rejuvenation techniques of the aging face. During the hands-on sessions, the latest techniques will be demonstrated by the experts performing procedures on live patients and synthetic models. Participants will take home pearls of wisdom from the experts and experience hands-on training in the cadaver labs. The course format will consist of lectures, panel discussions, question and answer sessions, and hands-on labs. TARGET AUDIENCE Physicians, Residents and Fellows from the five core specialties performing reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, dermatologic surgery, ENT (facial plastics), plastics, oculoplastics and maxillofacial surgery. OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this CME activity, the participant will be able to: Demonstrate proper patient selection for medical, surgical and cosmetic intervention for dermatologic and surgical conditions based on careful consideration of risk and benefit and the published guidelines. Evaluate and demonstrate knowledge and skills in dermatologic surgery, cosmetic dermatology, ophthalmologic surgery, oculoplastic surgery and maxillofacial surgery to improve patient outcomes. Assess recent advances in surgical and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures with emphasis on safety and efficacy for better patient outcomes. Compare alternative nonsurgical methods of facial rejuvenation including a range of fillers and fractional ablative technologies and formulate treatment plans based on known effectiveness of the therapy. Demonstrate and perform various reconstructive and cosmetic procedures on synthetic cadavers as well as on live patients through a multi-specialty approach which is aimed at improving performance in practice. Define and recognize knowledge and skills in human facial anatomy, danger zones, and common reconstructive and aesthetic techniques used in facial surgery. Apply knowledge regarding recent advances in the effective and safe treatment and management of cosmetic challenges and facial oncologic pathology. ACCREDITATION The is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Credit Designation The designates this live activity for a maximum of 16.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM.
