Women s 6 on 6 volleyball ended Feb. 21. That s a super popular 1
Continued from front page recreational volleyball league for adult women. Austin and Ryan had our first Father Daughter/Mother Son Dance. That was a great hit for families with younger children. The Y gymnasium hosted a youth basketball tournament Feb. 17-18. The old front lobby tile was removed and new was installed the week of Feb. 5. NEW SPORTS DIRECTOR There is never a dull moment at the Columbus Family YMCA! Have a great month! Corey Briggs, CEO HEALTHY KIDS DAY Saturday, April 21, 2018 School's close to being out and it's time to relax, decompress and have fun with friends. Summer is the time for kids to get up, get out and grow. But for some kids, exposure to activities that stimulate the body and mind ends with the school year. In fact, research shows that kids are prone to gain more weight and fall behind in studies. On April 21, the Y will celebrate Healthy Kids Day, our national initiative to improve the health and well -being of kids. Details for the 2018 Healthy Kids Day will be provided soon! This event is free and open to the public! NICK ZAKRZEWSKI Columbus Family YMCA would like to introduce Nick Zakrzewski as our new Sports Director. A 2014 Columbus High School graduate, Nick enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, golf, and soccer growing up. In high school he followed his passion of golf and played for three years. After graduation, Nick attended Central Community College here in Columbus where he obtained Business Management Certificate along with a Business Management Diploma. In his free time he enjoys the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Nick is honored to accept his new position and excited to start connecting with all our YMCA members! 2
