Welcome to Dear Colleague, ICCU 2011 will be focused on how to improve and adapt diagnosis and therapeutic interventions with pcle. The program has been designed to build on the knowledge we have obtained from current clinical practice, as well as new major study results. The program will allow us to explore avenues in tissue characterization, disease detection and treatment options. Despite the flow of new findings, many clinical questions still need attention and best practice shared. This scientific symposium aims to offer insight into the current questions we have regarding improving disease detection, treatment and how pcle contributes to patient management. Our distinguished speakers are drawn from a variety of specialties including digestive and pulmonary endoscopy, urology, pathology and image processing. This year, additional time has been allotted to pulmonology, a new field of application. Poster sessions, which will allow each one of you to present your latest findings with pcle, have also been included. We would like to thank Mauna Kea Technologies for their commitment to this forum, which continues to push the boundaries of endomicroscopy forward. Thanks to this continued support, we would like to extend our invitation to a world wide audience to join us in Nice, France to discuss the best options for improving the way we manage our patients now and in the future. Pr. Jean-Paul Galmiche CHU Nantes, France Pr. Prateek Sharma University of Kansas, Kansas City, USA Dear ICCU Guest, It is my pleasure, on behalf of Mauna Kea Technologies, to welcome you to the third edition of ICCU, hosted this year in Nice, France. Our objective is to keep developing innovative diagnostic solutions for the improvement of patient management and therapeutic interventions. Our commitment to clinical and product development is demonstrated by this year s ICCU curriculum/agenda. ICCU remains your meeting, a truly physician-led symposium. Outstanding faculty members have once again designed a very attractive scientific program to enrich the knowledge and clinical skills in managing and treating patients. Aligned with Mauna Kea Technologies vision, ICCU is aimed at highlighting the future developments of pcle and the advantages of accurate disease characterization. We hope that the strong scientific content of this event, friendly atmosphere and international representation will all favor open and inspiring communication. I offer a sincere welcome and wish everyone an insightful experience at ICCU 2011. Sacha Loiseau, PhD President, CEO & Founder, Mauna Kea Technologies Yang K. Chen Fellowship Program The Yang K. Chen Fellowship Program has been established to commemorate his contribution in improving medical practice, notably in the diagnosis and treatment of ERCP patients. The objective of the program is to support young physicians and researchers dedicated to improving the quality of patient care and the management of ERCP patients. Pr. Chen was one of the pioneers of ERCP and a world-known leader in this field. He was the principal investigator of the pcle ERCP registry and was present at ICCU in 2009 and 2010, where he unveiled the game-changing results for pcle in biliary indications. We will be announcing this year s award winner of the Yang K. Chen Fellowship Program.
