We are glad you are coming to learn with us, and we thank you in advance for your participation in providing the best care for the patients in our region. Student Orientation 2010, Centricity Enterprise EMR Training, and netlearning.parkview.com Instructions for Nursing Students Student Orientation 2010 and training for Centricity Enterprise Electronic Medical Record (also known as Carecast) are available to you in web-format through Parkview's NetLearning System. NetLearning will allow each student/ /instructor to enroll and complete the orientation modules via any computer with internet connection (home, school, etc). NetLearning will also keep track of the student/instructor's completion of training and module quiz scores: a transcript must be printed at the end of training to verify completion. Your Parkview Health ID Number: Your Parkview Health ID will be issued through Parkview Student Services, and can be obtained from your school nursing department. This is your personal access, so please guard it and do not forget this number. You will use the same number each semester you are at a Parkview site. You should add a lower-case letter s in front of your ID Number each time you login to the Parkview Computer Network. Parkview employees are not permitted to use their employee ID during student/faculty experiences. Preparing for your NetLearning computer time: Because the training modules contain intricate graphics and functions, broadband or DSL connections are optimal to allow for faster downloading and completion of the material. Before beginning, you may wish to set your monitor s display to at least 1024 by 768 pixels (through Settings on Windows desktop, select Control Panel, then Display, then Settings) to accommodate the graphics. Please allow at least 3 hours to complete all elements of this training. If you choose, you may arrange for private computer lab time at a Parkview site before the date of your first clinical day. Please contact Parkview Student Services/Workforce Development at 260-373-7222 to reserve computer time. If you experience technical difficulties or password/login problems, please contact the Parkview I.S. Service Center for assistance at 260-373-8500. 1

netlearning.parkview.com To access training: Once you have your student ID number, open your web browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc) and type netlearning.parkview.com in the address line. Username: enter the lower-case letter s followed by your 6-digit Parkview ID (for example s199999) *Tip: If you experience difficulty, try using an upper-case S instead. Password: if you have never logged into the Parkview Computer Network before, your password is a lower-case 6-character password following this format: First initial of first name (in caps), followed by first initial of last name (in caps), followed by 9999 (for example js9999). If you have been a previous student at Parkview and have logged in before (and created a private password), your password is the same as you left it. Create your private password. Click the REGISTRATION Button on the screen You will be taken to the Registration screen Enter your User ID and Password (*Tip: If you experience difficulty, try using an upper-case S instead in front of your ID number.) Click Login 2

Upon the first initial logon you will see the following screen. This screen will continue to show until all questions have been answered and saved. Enter answers to questions 1 and 2. Click on Submit Click on Change Password from the menu on the left. You will be taken to a password change screen. Enter your current password in the Old password field Enter a new password in the New password field Re-enter your new password in the Retype password field Click on SUBMIT Close the screen with the X in the top right corner of the screen Close the Registration Login screen with the X in the top right corner of the screen After completing registration, you may now access the courses using http://netlearning.parkview.com If you experience technical difficulties, please contact the IS Service Center at 373-8500. 3

How to work in NetLearning: 1. Go to the website netlearning.parkview.com. (Note: AOL users may need to minimize AOL screen, and access through Internet Explorer.) New users must register and setup password (see above). Sign in. 2. The NetLearning Student Interface Login screen will appear. (Note: If you do not have the ICA Client (ActiveX) for 32-bit Windows installed on your system, you must install the ICA Client to launch the applications. Follow the directions on the screen to install). In the Emp ID field, enter your 6-digit Parkview Health Student/Instructor ID (without the letter s prefix). Click Login. 3. Your personal Computer-Based Learning (CBL) To Do list will appear. You are now in NetLearning. 4. Follow the instructions below explaining How to Enroll in Computer-Based Learning (CBL) in NetLearning. 5. Complete the Student Orientation 2010 training Module. This module needs to be done yearly. 6. Complete the Project ET Logicare training Module. 7. Continue to follow this process to complete the Centricity Documentation CBLs as listed for your level of clinical experience. Once all of your training modules are completed, you may print your NetLearning Transcript. While still in NetLearning, select Report then Transcript from the buttons on the left side. Enter the date parameters and click Print Transcript. 8. Please give your printed transcript to your clinical instructor or designated school faculty member. How to Enroll in COMPUTER BASED LEARNING (CBL) in NetLearning 1. Sign in to NetLearning (do not enter the s ) 2. Click Enroll in CBL (all courses are listed alphabetically; numbers then letters) 3. Click Enroll for the CBL you want to review Questions about NetLearning? Make sure this is your name! Advance to other pages When you enroll in a course it moves to your TO DO list. After you pass the test, it returns to the Enroll in CBL list. To see your Transcript click Report then Transcript (select dates at top) this shows your record of completed CBLs and classes in alpha order.
