Dear Colleague Head start to a healthy lifestyle is a University organised by Personnel Services aimed at encouraging staff to discover new ways of improving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The will take place from Tuesday, 9 Friday, 12 October 2007 with a range of activities and treatments planned which are detailed on the attached programme. On Tuesday, 9 October 2007 between we re holding an exhibition in The Pavilion at and you are invited to come along and experience a range of activities and treatments, free of charge : have your cholesterol tested and blood pressure checked or why not book for a full body MOT or arrange for a full fitness test. participate in our Pedometer Competition walk the most steps during the week for the chance to win an overnight stay at Hoar Cross Hall Spa Resort (pedometers will be issued on the 9 October at and Stafford free of charge on a first come, first served basis) why not bike or walk to work on the 9th (first 50 staff will receive a free breakfast) try a massage there s Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, sports massage or the Daoyin Tao technique to sample. Alternatively, come and try out one of the three electronic massage chairs that will be available on the day sample a range of exotic fruits. Or try some of the other healthy products that will be available on the day for anyone in search of that sometimes elusive good night s sleep why not attend a seminar on 10 October 2007 which will provide tips and techniques to assist with improving your sleep and energy levels. looking good is not only about the inside, but the outside too (we ve two presentations organised on 11 and 12 October on wardrobe colour and personal style to suit you)....and much more! All activities and treatments are free of charge and for the majority you can just turn up and participate. The programme attached outlines the full range of activities being undertaken during the week and highlights what s need to be booked. The School of Health s Sport and Exercise team will be available to give you general fitness advice and are also offering a free health and fitness assessment. The assessments will be held on Wednesday 10 October bookings can be made with a member of the team at the Pavilion on the 9th. 11am 3pm Other health related products. An expert will be available to give you advice and guidance on how to kick the habit. 11am-1pm Assess your Eating Behaviours Have you ever wondered why you could not keep to that healthy diet? Do you think you cannot resist food when you re down? Or do you think you are just hungrier or have a slower metabolism than everyone else? A psychologist from the Faculty of Sciences specialising in eating behaviours will be offering free psychometric assessments. Why not come down and find out exactly what you really think, and how you really react to food.
