Young Country Provides a Service that will care for your Poultry needs. Young Country, a family owned and operated business, was EST. 1996, in Biggenden by Peter, Sherie and Ron Young. The desire to supply a good quality product, not only into the Burnett region, but also in the central Queensland area provided the incentive to relocate the business. With the installation of a new feedmill in December 2005, Young Country commenced operation in Biloela, Queensland. Biloela offered a more central location to provide our customers more effectively. Poultry Rations Young Country provides quality grain rations for all your poultry needs Chick Starter: complete feed for growing chicks from day old to 8 weeks of age. Pullet Developer: complete feed for growing pullets from 8 weeks to point of lay (20-22 weeks). 15% Molassified Laying Mash: suitable to be fed as a complete diet to point of lay fowls (20 to 22 weeks) kept for the production of table eggs (Pictured left). 17% Molassified Laying Mash: suitable to be fed as a complete diet to commercial adult fowls (from 20-22 weeks) kept for the production of table eggs. Broiler Starter: suitable for growing broiler chickens as a complete feed from day old to 14 days. Broiler Finisher: suitable for growing broiler chickens as a complete feed from 14 days to slaughter weight. Grain Mix: suitable to be fed as a supplement to poultry. Nutritional Advice Our Rations Similar commodities are used throughout our rations at different levels as per the requirements of the animal being fed. Our nutritionist, Harry Hornbuckle, owner of Agricon Products and leading nutritionist, has been working with Young Country for the past 15 years. Having many years of experience in nutrition and also as a former practicing veterinarian ensures optimum performance is achieved to suit our customers needs. Free ongoing consultations with Harry are available to all our customers. Feeding Regimes Access to clean water in a habitable environment along with unlimited access to feed will see your poultry flourish. Our rations contain quality grains, protein meals and all essential vitamins and minerals required. Essential Nutrients explained Protein meals provide natural sources of essential amino acids. Lysine and Methionine are added to balance the essential nutrient requirements. Premixes Vitamin and Mineral premixes included in our rations are sourced from Agricon Products, located in Maryborough, Queensland. Using a high quality ration in a well managed feeding program your poultry health will improve and reduce the risk of malting and high morbidity rate. Premixes Layer 3407: contains a balanced blend of vitamins and minerals to ensure high production, healthy birds and good egg size. Broiler 103/3: contains good levels of vitamins and minerals that ensures fast growth rate, reduced lameness and healthy birds. Broiler 103 also contains Maduramycin as an aid to the prevention of coccidiosis. Fortex Poultry Grower: contains a balanced blend of vitamins and minerals designed to ensure that pullets are healthy with good skeletons. 6
Nutritional Advice continued.. Custom Rations It is possible for our nutritionist to tailor a custom ration specific to customers needs and environment. We believe we have rations available to cover all situations; however we are happy to help customers develop their own. Other Products Available Young Country also manufactures a wide variety of other feeds such as bull, dairy, feedlot, pig, horse and goat. We also sell and deliver bulk grains and supplements such as barley, wheat, corn, sorghum, cotton seed meal and soy bean meal. Call the office for further information on our other products. Transport Young Country own and operate their own transport equipment for the delivery of stockfeed and transport of bulk grain. To ensure feed is delivered when customers require Young Country operates three stockfeed delivery bins. Our stockfeed bins have been manufactured to specifications that allow for a variety of stockfeed delivered to one or several locations through the use of compartments. Anywhere between two and thirty-six tonne can be delivered at one time (depending upon which configuration is used). When ordering larger tonnages customers can take advantage of different freight rates. Freight breaks are 2-5 t rate; 6-11 t rate; 12-18 t rate; and 24 t plus rate. Basic Fatigue Management and Mass Management have been implemented allowing the drivers to meet customers needs in a safe manner. Young Country also provides a freight service for tipper work in either Road-Train or B- Double configurations. 8
