Marie needed a new leg brace as her MS worsened, but was unable to afford the one that would be most effective. Thanks to fundraisers like you, we were able to help. I feel free again. Thank you. Marie, MoD Find out how you can keep making a difference

Our Events Are you looking for an adrenalin-packed adventure like an abseil or skydive, the challenge of walking 10,000 steps a day or putting on a Quiz for your colleagues? There are multiple dates and venues all over the country for you to choose from.

Held annually in October, it generates much needed income so we can continue offering a wide variety of services to help civil servants with any problems they may have. Have fun and build team spirit while supporting your very own occupational Charity. Get Yellow by organising an event in your workplace, such as a Dress Down Day, bake sale or Soft Toy Raffle. You can also sell tickets for the Autumn Prize Draw. Spring & Autumn Prize Draws We have two exciting opportunities for you to win up to 2,000 in June and November! Take part by buying tickets for yourself or sell tickets to colleagues and friends. Each book contains ten 1 tickets. How to get started! You want to plan an event in the office for the Charity but you re not sure where to start? We ve broken it down into these five easy steps. Stick the kettle on and let us show you how simple it can be Choose something fun to do! Show off your culinary skills with a bake sale, put on a Bring & Buy or do something totally new. Who s going to be involved? Will it be the whole office? Just your team? Will it involve friends and family too? Tell everyone! Possibly the most important stage. Post something on the office Intranet. Email everyone you know - they may want to support you even if they can t be there on the day. Shout from the rooftops using Facebook and Twitter. Mid-week around lunchtime is usually the best time to hold an event. Check the calendar for potential clashes and get agreement in your workplace. Start with the five Ws! Choose a place a lot of people will be passing through. We re here to support you and your colleagues. No one knows what s around the corner. Remind yourself and others of this throughout. TIP Decorations can go a long way to getting people interested in what you re doing. Put up balloons, banners and posters. Set up a fundraising page and share the link far and wide. Get collection tins from the Fundraising Team. Print off sponsorship forms. Start early and ask often! Start fundraising TIP Start early. The sooner you begin to plan and put things in motion, the more involved people will be and the more donations you ll receive. Let us know Tell us how it went! We love seeing pictures of an event and hearing how it went. We ll also send you a Thank You certificate you can display in your workplace. TIP Approach generous donors first. Most people will choose how much to give based on what others have given. Make a list & check it r Order materials and literature from us r Recruit volunteers r Send out a reminder email or post a reminder on the Intranet r Put up posters r Set up a float for change r Have a camera or smart phone ready to take lots of photos

Fundraise any time of the year! We have lots of great event ideas you can organise any time of year. Our Fundraising Team is here to help you get started with any of these or your own ideas. Soft Toy Raffle We ll send you a gorgeous soft toy, along with everything you need to setup a simple raffle event in your office. Corporate Book Event Buy top quality books at a fraction of high street prices! This hugely successful initiative is run in collaboration with The Book People. Each event generates 10% commission for the Charity and is suitable for large offices with 400+ staff. Bring & Buy A great way to clear out unwanted stuff and find something you ve been after for a while - all for a good cause. Recycle Don t throw it away - recycle! We can recycle jewellery, currencies (coins and notes), stamps, mobile phones, cameras & gadgets. Recycling generates valuable income for us, and also helps protect the environment. Contact the Fundraising Team to find out how you can turn your trash into our treasure. Office Bake Sales Fill tummies with sweet or savoury treats and raise money! Pool your foodie specialities as a fundraiser.

Let everyone know! Ways to Pay Once you ve chosen what you want to do, publicise your event with posters, office newsletters or an e-bulletin! You can also share links and photos through our Facebook page or get tweeting to us on Twitter. Whether you re putting on your own event or joining one of ours, the Fundraising Team is happy to provide you with support materials like posters or our How To Take a Great Photo guide: fun@foryoubyyou.org.uk or call 020 8240 2442/2448 www.facebook.com/foryoubyyou www.twitter.com/foryoubyyou Gail, Child Maintenance Group Sponsored Silence, Get Yellow, 2015 Remember to keep money secure. A CSSC-organised Three Peaks Challenge to support the Charity If you can get your sponsors (who are UK tax payers) to give their full name, address (including postcode) and tick the Gift Aid box confirming their tax payer status, we will receive an additional 25p per 1 under the Gift Aid scheme. This can make a big difference so it s worth pursuing where possible.

Keep it safe, fun & legal Health & Safety When organising an event take adequate steps to avoid risk to others. Carry out a simple assessment to identify, minimise and control risk.
