Trujillo - 5 Universidad Surcolombiana Medical School, Neiva, Colombia Met with medical school directors and advocated for the need to establish and teach LGBT cultural competency as part of the medical school curriculum for all medical professions. Discussed the implications of various school policies for LGBT students and patients. Conducted a roundtable discussion with medical students around myths and expectations of treating sexual minorities and the potential impact on LGBT patients. RESEARCH EXPERIENCE Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA August 2013 to Present Graduate Researcher, Social Justice in Health Laboratory, Dr. Paul Perrin Currently, assisting on the following studies: (1) psychosocial stressors, neurocognitive decline, and impulsivity in people with HIV; (2) physiological correlates of racism in the media; and (3) examining the effect of immigrant experiences on mental and physical health outcomes. Have assisted on the following studies: (1) potential factors that may affect college students intention to be a caregiver; (2) a culturally sensitive intervention for TBI caregivers in Latin America; (3) exploring the experiences of sexual minorities health and health behaviors in Latin America; (4) examination of psychosocial correlates of physical and mental health in a transient/low-income primary care population; (5) alternative tobacco products and its psychosocial correlates in a college population; and (6) assessing the health of college students with chronic illnesses.
