Dr. Howard Gluckman Dr. Andrea Agnini DACE Implant Program is a modular course with content curated specifically with a focus on educating clinicians the best treatment modalities in a variety of implant indications. Dr. Alessandro Agnini Dr. Maurice Salama Dr. Ziv Mazor Dr. Howard Gluckman received his BDS from University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. He later completed Periodontics at the University of Stellenbosch, Cape Town with distinction. He is currently in full time private practice in Cape Town. He is the director of the Implant and Aesthetic Academy and is the past president of South African Society for Dental Implantology. He has been involved in Implantology training for 16 years and has lectured extensively internationally. Dr. Dr. Andrea Agnini graduated in 2007 from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. Dr Agnini works in private practice in Modena, Italy specialized in fixed prosthodontics and implantology. He attended the NYU Dollege of Dentistry is a Clinical Research Fellow of the the Ashman Department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at NYU. He has co-authored several publications and provides consulting services to both BioHorizons & Zimmer. Dr. Alessandro Agnini graduated in 1989 from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. He has private dental practices in Modena and Sassuolo, Emilia Romagna, Italy and specialises in fixed prosthetics, paradontology and implantology. In 2002 he obtained a diploma in the Multidisciplinary Treatment of Parodontal Patients from the University of Bern, Switzerland. He is an active member of the Italian Academy of Prosthetic Orthodontics. He is the author of many scientific publications and lectures frequently on world podiums. Dr. Maurice Salama received his DMD from University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where he later completed his dual specialty in Orthodontics and Periodontics, as well as implant training at the Branemark Center at Penn. Dr. Salama is currently a faculty of University of Pennsylvania and Medical College of Georgia as Clinical Assistant Professor of Periodontics. His unique background makes him a frequent author of dental literature and one of the most sought-after speaker globally. Dr. Ziv Mazor graduated the periodontal department of Hadassah school for dental medicine-jerusalem Israel. He maintains private practice limited to periodontal and implant dentistry in Israel. Since 1993 Dr Mazor is engaged in clinical research in the field of Bone Augmentation and Sinus Floor Elevation and has lectured extensively internationally. Dr. Mazor conducts and moderates advanced implant courses and workshops. Dr. Tarun Kumar Dr. Udatta Kher Dr. Lanka Mahesh Dr. Ali Tunkiwala Dr. Narayan TV Dr. Tarun Kumar graduated from Kuvempu University and followed it up with Masters in Periodontology from Rajiv Gandhi University. He lives and practices in Davangere and is the Associate Dean of Academics at Bapuji Dental College & Hospital. He is a a diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He focuses on advances in Implant Dentistry at the Bapuji Implant Centre and is actively involved with research with several multi-national companies. Dr. Udatta Kher graduated from Government Dental College and Hospital, Mumbai in 1990 and followed that up with Masters in Oral Surgery. He maintains two practices focused towards implantology, laser dentistry and restorative dentistry. He is a visiting Professor in the Implantology Department at SDM Dental College, Dharwad. He runs Impart Education academy with basic courses in implant dentistry. He is the director for the Mumbai Seacost ITI Study Club. Dr. Lanka Mahesh graduated from Ambedkar Dental College, Bengaluru and followed that up with Master Clinician Program in Implantology from UCLA. He is a Fellow and Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He practices in Delhi with a focus exclusively on Implant and craniofacial surgeries. He has authored several books and is the Editor in chief for the International Journal of Oral Implantology and Clinical Research. He has over 100 publications and has lectured extensively world-wide. Dr. Ali Tunkiwala graduated from Nair Dental College and Hospital, Mumbai in 1996 and followed that up with Masters in Prosthodontics. He is an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He trained in implant placement and restoration in Germany and also is a fellow of ICOI. He is the codirector for the Mumbai Seacost ITI Study Club. He is actively involved in Impart Education and nurtures young clinicians towards ethical and evidence based implant dentistry. He practises in Mumbai with an exclusive focus on implant esthetics and full mouth rehabilitation. Dr. Narayan graduated from Ambedkar Dental College, Bengaluru in 1992 and pursued his masters in Oral Pathology at Nair Hospital and Dental College, Mumbai. He has over 16 years of teaching experience. He is a Fellow and Diplomate of the ICOI and is also the director for ITI study club in Bengaluru. His lives and practices in Bengaluru with focus on Implant and graft related surgeries. Module 1: Extraction Site Management This introductory module is focused on management of extraction sites including Socket Preservation, and Implant Placement in both optimal and deficient sites. A comprehensive overview will help understand and advance proficiency in regenerating bone and soft tissue after extractions and placement of implants with either a single stage or staged GBR approach. This module runs for 5 days including a 2 day refresher course inclusive of hands-on and live surgical demonstration by DACE faculty followed by surgeries by program participants. Didactics will cover proper diagnosis & treatment planning protocols, clinical techniques for atraumatic extractions, extraction site grafting & management of complications. Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: þ Identify and diagnose defect pathology with appropriate treatment methodologies þ Perform atraumatic extractions and routine grafting surgeries with proper selection of armamentarium þ Accurately document and chart the cases for record keeping þ Recognize, manage and prevent associated complications þ Master Socket Shield, Root Submergence, immediate implant placement with grafting & socket preservation techniques Curriculum: þ Site Anatomy: hard/soft tissues and classification of defects þ Clinical diagnosis and treatment planning including photographic documentation guidelines and strategies þ Radiological principles: Panoromic and 3D interactive diagnosis with Cone Beam CT þ Systematic treatment evaluation protocols and Implant placement protocols þ Principles and parameters that influence peri-implant soft tissue architecture þ Soft tissue manipulation: flap designs, incisions and suturing techniques for preserving tissue architecture þ Guidelines, indications and surgical protocols for gingival grafts, connective tissue grafts, etc þ Taxonomy of instrumention and relevant usage þ Biomaterials Basics (Grafts/Collagen): classification, indications, features and benefits þ Suturing types and techniques Course Exercises: þ Place 1 implant and use at least 1 grafting technique þ Perform at least 1 implant surgery in private practice prior to next module þ Document and present implant surgeries in the next module Module Faculty:

Module 2: Sinus Augmentation Protocols This module will focus exclusively on sinus augmentation surgeries and procedures as they relate to managing deficient bone in posterior maxilla. Techniques discussed will feature placement of implants in maxillae with deficient bone due to atrophic sinuses. Both lateral window and crestal approach techniques will be discussed including single stage and two stage variations. Minimally invasive techniques that can be employed in routine dental practices will be presented. This module runs for 4 days with didactics, hands-on and live patient demonstrration surgery by DACE faculty followed by program participants involvement. Didactics will cover proper diagnosis & treatment planning protocols, guidelines & management of complications in the posterior maxilla. Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: Curriculum: þ Identify and diagnose sinus pathology and deficiencies with appropriate treatment methodologies þ Perform sinus augmentation surgeries with proper selection of armamentarium þ Accurately document and chart the cases for record keeping þ Sinus Anatomy and Sinus Membrane Pathology þ Clinical diagnosis and treatment planning with guidelines and strategies þ Radiological principles: Panoromic and 3D interactive diagnosis with Cone Beam CT þ Principles and parameters that influence sinus healing þ Taxonomy of instrumention and appropriate usage þ Introduction to Biomodifiers: PRF/PRGF/BMP þ Implant selection and placement protocols þ Introduction to Piezosurgery þ Sinus membrane repair þ Post-operative follow up and interpretation of bone density variations þ Discussion on complications and management with a emphasis on prevention protocols Course Exercises: þ Perform one crestal/lateral approach sinus augmentation surgery þ Place at least 1 implants with sinus augmentation þ Document and present surgeries in the next module Module Faculty:

Module 3: Esthetics & Implant Prosthodontics A synergy between hard & soft tissue and prosthetics is essential for the most esthetically pleasing outcome. This module is entirely dedicated to acheiving esthetics with appropriate soft tissue surgical techniques and implant prosthodontics. The prosthodontic segment will cover impression techniques, jaw relations, occlusion principles and other tips and tricks for achieving the best restorative solution. This module runs for 4 days with two days dedicated to didactics a day dedicated to pig jaw hands-on and final day for live surgeries where participants can practice advanced soft tissue surgeries and be introduced to Piezo instrumentation. Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: þ Understand the role of prosthesis and restorations in the overall success of implant surgeries þ Understand occlusal concepts and guidelines for difficult restorative situations þ Recognize, manage and prevent associated complications Curriculum: þ Prosthetic components and Abutment Options þ Pre-implant prosthodontics þ Full Mouth Rehab þ Removable vs. Fixed Prosthesis þ Material selection and impression techniques þ Prosthesis variations and selection guidelines þ All on 4 s and Overdentures þ Occlusal concepts in implantology þ Restorative Designs: Cemented vs. Screw Retained þ Veneering Materials and guidelines þ Implant loading protocols þ Discussion on complications and management with a emphasis on prevention protocols Course Exercises: þ Practice impression techniques þ Master soft tissue techniques from module 1 on pig-jaws þ Perform at least 1 surgery applying principles from module 1 and 2 in private practice prior to next module Module Faculty:

Final Module: Advanced Grafting Techniques The final module of this year long program culminates in Atlanta at the Dental XP center. Advance grafting techniques including ridge splits, block grafts, etc will be covered in the didactics component. This module runs for 3 days with one day dedicated to didactics, second day for pig jaw hands-on exercises and third day for Graduation Ceremony and Banquet! The course participants will also get a refresher with key points from all the modules. All cases done during the entire program will need to be presented to DACE faculty with interactive discussions. Masters in Implantology In Association with and DACE Implant Program is a unique international certificate program led by world-class faculty but customized for Indian Clinicians. A modular clinical and didactic based program with faculty overseeing the clinical activity was designed to give the participants a high level of clinical confidence that will enable them to master implant related surgeries after course completion.
