Creating Sagittal Balance Comparing Lateral vs. Posterior Techniques October 24, 2015 Miami, FL InterContinental Miami M.A.R.C. BioSkills Lab Course Chairmen: Sergey Neckrysh, MD Dan Cohen, MD

Course Course Overview The Creating Sagittal Balance: Comparing Lateral vs. Posterior Techniques Cadaveric Training Program is a unique one day course that will focus on the effects of restoring sagittal and coronal spinal balance while comparing open vs. minimally invasive (MIS) surgical techniques. Special emphasis will be placed on the principles and rationale of the anterior longitudinal ligament release using the minimally invasive lateral retroperitoneal transpsoas and posterior osteotomy approaches. This course will provide an outstanding opportunity to advance your knowledge and surgical skills through case-based debates and hands-on practical exercises in a cadaveric setting. This course is designed as an open forum and will be very interactive. Cases will be presented and then opened for debate and discussion. Participants are encouraged to bring cases for discussion. Course Faculty includes recognized neurosurgeon and orthopaedic leaders who are eager to share their knowledge and experience. We hope that you will consider registering for this course and sharing this opportunity with your colleagues. Participants registering for this course should have previous lateral experience. There will be extensive hands-on lab time with a 2:1 surgeon to faculty ratio. The following surgical techniques will be covered in the BiosSkills lab: Lateral Techniques: Lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusions (LLIF) - Direct Look Anterior Longitudinal Ligament (ALL) Release Lateral Corpectomy Posterior Techniques: Posterior Osteotomies (SPO, PSO and VCR) Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (TLIF) Target Audience Enrollment in this course is open to practicing orthopaedic and neurological surgeons who have previous lateral experience and manage the care of patients with spinal disorders. Cadaveric-based learning with a procedurally focused application of Globus Medical technology from start to finish. CADAVERIC
