Page 3 of 5 PRODUCT: Sikagard AG PART B SECTION VI: TOXIC PROPERTIES ROUTE OF ENTRY / CONTACT Liquid product, aerosols or vapours are irritating. Can cause tearing, reddening and swelling. May cause discomfort. Prolonged contact can cause corneal damage. Carcinogenicity: Toxic effects on reproduction: Skin: Irritant. Can cause rash, scaling or blistering. May cause sensitization by skin contact. Teratogenicity: Mutagenicity: Inhalation: Vapour/mists at concentrations above the exposure limits can irritate (burning sensation) the mucous membranes in the respiratory tract. Causes runny nose, sore throat, coughing, chest discomfort, difficult breathing and reduced pulmonary functioning. People with pre-existing, nonspecific bronchial hyperactivity can respond to concentrations below the TLV with similar symptoms as well as asthma attack. Exposure well above the TLV may lead to bronchitis, bronchial spasm and pulmonary oedema. Effects are usually reversible. Chemical or hypersensitive pneumonitis, with flu-like symptoms has also been reported. These symptoms can be delayed up to several hours after exposure. Product with synergistic effects: Not known Ingestion: Can cause burning of the mouth. Can result in irritation of the stomach tissue and/or the digestive tract. An acute or chronic exposure will increase the toxic effects mentioned in this section and may aggravate respiratory problems.
