So people started giving importance to their cosmetic facade. Beauty is not just a source of joy, but also relaxes the mind understanding and usage of cosmetics is not only improving the appearance but also to boost the individual's confidence. Indian women have long used herbs such as sandal wood and turmeric for skin care, henna to colour the hairs, palms and soles; and natural oils to perfume their bodies. But as we know, by the only external care beauty cannot be handled, internal cleanliness or purification must berequired.ayurveda physician believe that toxic materials inside our body make a person ugly and disease and Shodhana is the best therapeutic intervention to eliminate body toxins. Panchakarma procedures could emerge as a major contributor to the global cosmetic industry. KEYWORDS: Cosmetology, Beauty, Panchakarma. INTRODUCTION Beauty is the desire of every individual to give pleasure to the sense. Beauty is not always related to women rather men are more beauty consciousness as the evolution shows male animals are more beautiful. Some are beauty by birth and some are want to become beautiful [1]. The concept of using herbs for beautification is well defined in Ayurveda. The cosmetic preparations are used for worship and for sensual enjoyment in India since Vedic period. The external application of kajala, tilaka, aguru, chandana, haridraetc to God and Goddess are seen in many rituals of India [2]. Cosmetology is the science of alternation of appearance and modification of beauty. Any substance or preparation intended to be placed in contact with the various external parts of

Impact factor: 3.958/ICV: 4.10 ISSN: 0976-7908 484 human body (epidermis, hair, nails, lips, and external genitals) or with the teeth and mucous membrane of oral cavity with a view exclusively or mainly to cleaning them, changing their appearance [3]. Ayurveda emphasizes on external and internal beauty. It is believed in Ayurveda that one can enhance internal beauty by understanding and following the basic principle of Ayurveda.Panchakarma is effective in beauty care especially in skin care and skin diseases like Psoriasis, Vitiligo, and Eczema etc. It is also efficacious in hair care and diseases like Premature hair greying, Alopecia. Hair fall, etc. Panchakarma is also effective in obesity because it reduces the weight and makes the body in shape that is the part of beauty.consumer trends suggest a gradual shift from chemical-based products to ayurvedic beauty products and Panchakarma. So Panchakarma can be more useful for internal cleanliness and for enduring the one beautiful. Concept of beauty in Classics: Beauty is not only a source of jay but gives confidence and proud in some extent. Ayurveda cosmetology started from mother wombs, Dinacharya, Ratricharya, Ritucharya with the practice of medicinal herbs and minerals. AcharyaCharaka narrated that beauty of female is enhanced by finding a suitable man, similarly a man can enhanced his appearance by getting with similar mind, psyche and liking with excellent quality partner. Beautiful woman is always praised in our ancient text as virtue, wealth; affluence and creation depend on women.according to Ayurveda Human body functions through various channel systems called Srotansi, containing both microscopic and macroscopic structures such as the respiratory system, lymphatic system, reproductive system and nervous system, among others. These channels function as innumerable psycho-biological processes such as enzyme production, digestive assimilation and elimination, immune power etc. and responsible for wellness and beauty. These act rhythmically and in concert with one another to perform complex decision-making regarding the supply of nutrients, filtration of toxins, excretion of wastes and much more. If these waste materials are insufficiently metabolized, toxins or incompletely processed foods and experiences can become deposited in weak areas of the body. If unaddressed, these can become a disease. These toxins or unprocessed metabolic deposits can cloud the normal psycho-biological cellular intelligence and loss body lustre and beauty. Panchakarma therapy is both preventative for healthy people to maintain and improve excellent cellular function, and curative for those experiencing disease. The Ama (toxic materials inside our body) makes a person ugly and disease and Panchakarma or Shodhana (Purification) is the best therapeutic intervention to eliminate body toxins. It is a highly complex and sophisticated science of purification of the body/mind.

Impact factor: 3.958/ICV: 4.10 ISSN: 0976-7908 485 Advantages of Ayurveda in Cosmetology: Long history of safe human usage, not tested on animals. The human body responds well to natural substances and has a resistance to synthetic ones. The skin and scalp are influenced at the cellular level, helping to improve normal function. Promotes the capacity to absorb products. Restores the normal ph balances. Herbs have a mild effect but have powerful & specific healing properties. Particularly suited to skin and hair care. Natural fragrances of flower and herbal extracts help to calm the nerves and induce relaxation. Panchakarma in Beautifying Concept: Abhyanga:It is one of the most popular therapies for the preservation of health described in Ayurveda. It is the process by which the body of an individual is anointed with oil. Benefits of Abhyanga:Regular practice of Abhyanga endows the following benefits. It enhances the age and reduces wrinkles. It relieves tiredness and weakness. It relieves the Vata in the body.it improves the eyesight.it tones up the Body Tissues and strengthens the body. It induces sound sleep.it imparts a glossy and soft appearance of the skin. It altogether improves the general health of the individual. It improves the circulation. Vamana-Virechana:Vamana is very effective in Kaphajvikara. Vamana is the ultimate therapy to make the patients totally free from skin disorders. Vamana removes the vitiated Kapha from the stomach and half part of the duodenum, whereas, Vamana and Virechana remove Kapha and Pitta from the Koshtha. They are driven toward the Koshtha with the help of Snehana and Swedana. In this manner Vamana and Virechana act on the vitiated Doshas of the whole body. In santarpaniyajanyavyadhis, it is described that Shodhanachikitsa should be there. In various skin diseases like Vitiligo, Eczema, Psoriasis, etc. Vamana and Virechana are mentioned to do [4]. Nasya:Nasya therapy is a process wherein the drug (herbalized oils and liquid medicines) is administered through the nostrils. Benefits of Nasya:Nasyakarma ensures the proper and healthy growth of hair. The therapy enhances the activity of sense organs and protects the person from diseases pertaining to head

Impact factor: 3.958/ICV: 4.10 ISSN: 0976-7908 486 (urdhwanga). Early aging process is effectively prevented by the regular administration of Nasyakarma. [5] Basti:Bastikarma concentrates on the elimination of the loosened vatadosha out through the rectum.bastikarma is an effective treatment that has very few or no side effects on the body. Benefits of Basti:Bastikarma is highly beneficial in cleansing and detoxifying the body. The strong treatment penetrates deep into the Dhatus, while the mild treatment works on the uperficial level of dhatus. Both the treatments are beneficial for the body. Secretions in the colon are promoted by Bastikarma, thereby ensuring a good health. Raktamokshana:Raktamokshana is one of the Panchakarma Ayurvedic treatments of detoxification. It is made of two words Raktai.e blood and Mokshanai.e to leave and combining both these words makes the word Raktamokshana which means to let out blood. Benefits of Raktamokshana:It works both as curative as well as preventive therapy. As in Ayurvedic medicine, the BastiKarma is regarded as partial or even the complete treatment method, similarly in the Ayurveda surgery text, Raktamokshana is considered as the partial or complete treatment in itself [6].It helps in Allergies, Skin disorders such as Eczema, Allergic Dermatitis etc. [7] DISCUSSION The market for Ayurvedic beauty products is growing fast. Many companies have entered the segment with branded products in categories such as skin care, hair care, soaps and essential oils. Concern about unsafe chemicals in beauty products has increased consumer interest in alternatives i.e. Panchakarma.Today, India is captivating the mainstream cosmetics industry in a big way. It starts from highend brands creating makeup shades based on the country s bright colours to skin- and hair-care lines capitalizing on Ayurveda, an ancient medicinal system using herbs and other natural ingredients [8]. Panchakarma procedures have been tested in scientific trials with an evidence based approach and have been got highly significant results. Only applying of beauty productsexternally, it results for temporary time but internal cleanliness gives the beauty for longer as well as shows it natural. So Panchakarma is must for that for gaining the real beauty inside and wipe out the external unwanted dirtiness. Ayurvedic physicians prefer Panchakarma first for beautifying or cosmetic purpose. Even though in Indian public scenario, they quite aware from other harmful cosmetics and favour to do Panchakarma instead of them [9]. CONCLUSION The India market has been traditionally inclined toward natural products for their beauty needs, and Indians have a history and knowledge of using Panchakarma. While consumers in

Impact factor: 3.958/ICV: 4.10 ISSN: 0976-7908 487 the rest of the world have to be educated about the benefits of Panchakarma, this knowledge is well-inherited in India from generations.itneedsto be consideredthat only a complete answer for skin care and beauty care as Vamanakarma, Virechana karma, Nasya, Basti, Rasayana and Shamana but also have their role in its management.
