IMPACT ON HUSD #3 1) The first wealth is health! - Ralph Waldo Emerson 2) The stakes are high. We are raising the first generation in 150 years that is projected to have a lower life expectancy than its parents. This startling reality is based primarily on the more than 30-year trend in rising childhood obesity. Our genetic makeup hasn t changed during that time, but the environment kids are growing up in has changed dramatically.- Tom Hohensee- Creating Healthy Schools and Communities - Quote from an article in a health magazine
