What if a tooth is lost and the toothless area is left alone? The alignment of teeth change Cavities and periodontal disease occur. The gap between teeth widens, thereby compromising the esthetic effect. Less digestion occurs because chewing foods is difficult. You lose your natural smile If left alone for a long time, alveolar bones are absorbed, and wearing a denture becomes difficult You look older than your age Articulating precisely is difficult. 01.What if a tooth is lost and the toothless area is left alone?

Beautiful smile, delicious meals, comfortable conversation Do you want to restore the confidence in your look along with your smile? Do you not want to grind adjacent teeth? Do you want to free yourself from the inconvenience of wearing, removing, and cleaning dentures? Want to show and feel that your teeth are real and part of your mouth? Do you want to free yourself from discomfort in a denture? Want to free yourself from the embarrassment and discomfort when your denture is dislodged? We strongly recommend an OSSTEM IMPLANT 02.Do you want to restore the confidence in your look along with your smile?

OSSTEM IMPLANT as the second permanent tooth I M P L A N T Designed for toothless areas, this treatment involves implanting artificial dental roots made of a special metal (titanium) to the jawbone for a natural feel as well as esthetic satisfaction. This is a safe treatment, a better alternative to the existing bridge or denture. 03.Implant as the second permanent tooth

Ten reasons to love implant An implant has the same strong chewing force as that of a natural tooth Economical and semi-permanent durability Feeling as natural as a natural tooth The strength of chewing with a denture accounts for only 1/20 of natural teeth. In contrast, the implant has the same strength of chewing as a natural tooth. Therefore, with an implant, you can chew hard food well. Protection of adjacent teeth Implants can be used for as long as 10 30 years depending on the care. 01 02 Relief from the discomfort of wearing dentures Implant has excellent esthetic function, since it looks and feels like a natural tooth. 03 With a bridge, your healthy adjacent teeth will be affected. An implant is placed only in the gap where the lost tooth was located; however, adjacent teeth are not damaged. You can be relieved from the periodontal pain, discomfort, and bad breath that are related to wearing dentures. 04 05 As comfortable as a natural tooth No chance of a cavity Maintenance of healthy jawbone Implant is permanent, since it is attached to the alveolar bone like a natural tooth. Chewing remains an enjoyable experience 06 There is no chance of the implant developing cavities because it is an artificial tooth. Increased stability in the full denture If you wear dentures for a long time, your jawbone can deteriorate. In contrast, implant placement makes the bone strong and prevents it from being absorbed by 07 08 the body. With an implant, you can feel the temperature and texture of foods. 09 In the case of a full denture, it can be fixed firmly after the implant is placed; hence the absence of movement in the mouth. 10 04.Ten reasons to love implant

Implant vs. bridge vs. denture Implant Bridge Denture Loss of teeth Loss of teeth Cementation of fixture Removal of teeth Loss of all teeth Method of surgery Damage to teeth Strength of chewing Treatment period Cementation of prosthesis Root of independent artificial tooth inserted into the bone No damage to adjacent teeth Jawbone kept healthy; strength of chewing similar to that of natural teeth Takes about 3~6 months Cementation of prosthesis Teeth on both sides cut; three teeth are made into one, and artificial teeth, inserted Damage to adjacent teeth because they are ground Absence of root of teeth causing loss of bone adjacent to teeth and chewing strength to decline in the process Short treatment period Cementation of complete denture Teeth on both sides cut; three teeth are made into one, and artificial teeth, inserted Periodontal mold prepared and subsequently made in the form of standard teeth and set of teeth Difficult to eat tough and hard foods Short treatment period Life span Semi-permanent Must be replaced every 5 ~10 years Repaired and replaced every 3~4 years Cost Economical despite the high initial cost and considering the life span Low initial cos Low compared to implants, although additional costs are incurred for replacement; uncomfortable to use as well 05.Implant vs. bridge vs. denture

Diagnosis and treatment process of an implant The process of implant treatment consists of the pre-surgery test, first surgery, minor dental procedure, prosthesis cementation, and regular maintenance care 1.Teeth checkup, treatment plan, periodontal treatment 2. Implant placement (1st surgery) 3.Simple sterilization and removal of suture 4.Bone healing and osseointegration 7.Connection of upper implant (2nd surgery) 6.Manufacture and cementation of artificial teeth 5.Regular maintenance and management 06.Diagnosis and treatment process of an implant

Cautions After an Implant Surgery 01 For 2 days after the surgery, apply ice on the cheek where the surgery was performed. 06 In case of bone graft to the maxillary sinus, avoid blowing your nose strongly or spitting. 02 03 After the surgery, refrain from excessive exercise, overwork, sauna, and bath for 3 days. During brushing, avoid the surgery part for 2~3 days (use gargle solution instead). 07 In case of severe bleeding, place gauze soaked in cold water in the mouth. If the bleeding persists, visit a dental clinic for the appropriate treatment. 04 Refrain from drinking alcohol and smoking for two weeks. 08 The surgery part may swell considerably for 2~3 days after the surgery. In this case, apply ice on the surgery part for two days. If the swelling persists, apply hot 05 Chew foods on the opposite side of the surgery part. Avoid hot foods. massage for relief. If the swollen part is very painful, visit a dental clinic for the appropriate treatment. 01.Cautions After an Implant Surgery

Q & A Success Rate Implant Materials Q What is the success rate? Q Do implants contain harmful heavy metal? A From 1975 to 2004, Implant success ranged between 90%mto 100% according to a clinical study. Reference) Immediate and early implant loading protocols : a literature review of clinical studies. J Prosthet Dent. 2005 Sep;94(3):242-58. Review. Treatment Period Q A How long is the treatment period? The treatment takes about one month from consultation up to the first surgery and another 2~3 months until the periodontal bones and implant are fixed firmly and the prosthesis is mounted. The period could be extended to 6~9 months depending on the condition of the jaw bones and mouth, chewing strength, and difference in the implant system. Nowadays, however, the development of a variety of implant methods and systems has shortened the treatment period. Treatment Cost Q Aren t implants expensive compared to dentures? A No. Implant is made of titanium, forming TO2 on the surface in air, water, and other electrolyte by itself. Boasting of excellent bio-compatibility, implants are not harmful to the human body. Post-surgery Effects Q What are the post-surgery effects, if any? A After the surgery, your face or gums feel stiff and sore. Swelling may also cause the jaw or lips to be numb for several days. Still, there s no need for you to worry; these symptoms will subside over time. If symptoms persist, however, see a doctor immediately. Pain Q Does it hurt a lot? A Not at all, since local anesthesia will be administered before surgery. After the surgery, however, you may experience some pain once the effect of the anesthesia wears off. Generally aspirin is all that is needed to relieve the pain. A Although the initial cost is high, implants are semi-permanent; thus, they are actually cheaper because no additional cost is incurred. In contrast, although the initial cost of dentures is lower than that of implant, additional cost is incurred later. Subject for Treatment Q Can old patients undergo implant surgery? A Yes. Patients are advised to undergo implant surgery while they are still young because of the better bone condition, the bone volume, and the width and depth of bone where the implant will be placed. If a test proves that surgery is possible, then elderly patients can undergo the surgery. 02.Q & A
