Waiting Times The Northern Health & Social Care Trust monitors waiting time performance against a number of Departmental targets on a monthly basis to include Inpatients, Daycases, Outpatients, Diagnostics and AHP s. This report is a summary taken from the Trust Board Performance report and presents waiting times by specialty. Summary Positions Elective In-patients and Day Case Waiters - As at 6 th May 2014 there were; 1052 NHSCT patients waiting over 13 weeks (Inpatient / Day Case) 328 NHSCT patients breached the backstop positions 251 NHSCT patients waiting over 26 weeks 75.2% NHSCT patients were waiting within 13 weeks 92.3% NHSCT patients were waiting within backstop position Table 1(a): IP/DCCore Patients by Waiting at 06/05/2014 (exc. Right hand columns refer to the total number of patients waiting in the Trust over 13 weeks, and also the longest wait for an operation within a particular specialty as at month end. Patients are grouped into weeks waiting, i.e. 26 weeks equals 182 188 days. Patients waiting >26 weeks (183 188 days) will therefore be included in the 18 week group. Only those patients waiting exactly 26 weeks in this column are not breachers 2

NHSCT Outpatient Waiters As at 6 th May 2014 there were; 8,931 NHSCT patients waiting over 9 weeks Outpatients (inc. IS Transfers) 5,236 NHSCT patients breached the backstop positions (inc. IS Transfers) 4,084 NHSCT patients waiting over 15 weeks (inc. It is calculated as an average of the difference between: 1. the scheduled appointment date and the effective current date i.e. excluding DNA s and cancellations 2.
