Hexagram Flying Cloud Hands Touching the Jade Belt Happy Heaven, Happy Earth Oh, My Precious No Strings Attached Prosperity, Success, Longevity Heaven s Gift of Gold Affirmations Resilient Breathing Complementary Movements Abdominal Soon Breathing Turning Qi (with variations) Stepping on the Spot Butterfly Wings Grounding Qi Wisdom Roots CFQ Self massage Love My Body (with variations) My Happy Body Lotus Walk Reverse Walk CFQ Squats Gibbon The Nameless 5

My blood and Qi are flowing smoothly. I am filled with peace and joy. I am free of pain and illness. I am blessed with good fortune. Mon sang et mon énergie circulent librement. Je suis rempli(e) de paix et de joie. Je suis sans douleur ni malaise. Je reçois l'abondance en toutes choses. 6

Breathe naturally Pay attention to the movements and allow your breathing to look after itself don t try to do two things a once Avoid artificial breathing methods or trying to synchronize your breathing with the movements Keep joints straight but not locked Keep movements relaxed Keep a moderate speed Flex the knees slightly Allow the Qi to flow through the limbs Movements should be loose without tension or flexion Use no strength Do not strain Learn to relax as you practice CFQ Slow and easy but not too slow (see Timings) Fast movements block energy flow Movements that are too slow encourage stagnation Observe brief pauses between actions to prevent energy back flow 7

Downward flow Stale energy will flow down and out through the limbs Releases will occur anywhere in the body With practice the meridians are cleansed 8

Song kua (to loosen, relax the thighs, hips, pelvis, groins etc.) Bend the knees and drop the buttocks Relax the tendons around the hips Soften through the lower abdomen to the sitting bones 9

Fa jing (to cleanse stale energy) Raise or open the hands Downward release 10

Xin fa (the way of the heart) Switch off thoughts and emotions Bring the awareness to the body be present Use no strength, train to be effortless wuwei (non doing) Hold no intention not even the intention to be healed Be detached: no anxiety, doubt, judgment or reaction; no excitement Aim for equanimity: calmness, stillness, peace 11

In CFQ we do not: Attempt to generate or store Qi Direct the flow of Qi internally ("orbits") Focus or beam Qi in external healing Practice visualization Hold static body postures Practice focussed breathing Concentrate on particular parts of the body In CFQ we stress: The de emphasizing of intention Qi flow as opposed to a build up of Qi The body's innate ability to heal itself and return to a state of natural health The absence of strength Non doing, relaxation, letting go, release Emptiness and detachment 12

Mind body reconnection Thoughts and emotions drive the mind/spirit from the body stress and disharmony lead to disease To liberate the mind and reintegrate it harmoniously within the body Qi flow Health = the mind spread evenly throughout the body Tissues are regenerated, physiological functions are regulated Smooth Qi flow a state of harmony and peace Downward release of disease energy Attitude of letting go and non doing (wuwei) Blockages in flow cause disease Down and out dissolving and flushing out these blockages eliminates problems in the mind and body 13

14

Cause Karma (experience) is stored in the body Karma causes compaction How they act Strength creates blockage blockage grabs Not just muscles but also in organs can damage organs Common in the elderly in the night Effect Muscles will atrophy, become denser Cramp will separate from muscles and take on a life of its own Cause Karma begins to separate from the body Strong pull back = cramp You have to suffer through it as part of healing Effect Similar symptom but opposite effect Muscles will expand What you should do Allowing it to soften clears off the blockage Stay put, stay calm, do not panic. Find out how to relax it. Wait for it to release. Comply Relax Wait 15
