FIRST AID MEASURES Ingestion Eye Skin Inhaled First Aid Facilities Advice to Doctor If swallowed do NOT induce vomiting. Immediately wash out mouth with water. Seek urgent medical attention. Bring vomiting person into the recovery position. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If swallowed, gastric irrigation with activated carbon. If in eyes, hold eye lids apart and flush the eye continuously with running water. Continue flushing until advised to stop by the Poisons Information Centre or a doctor, or for at least 15 minutes. Seek urgent medical attention. Rinse eyes with physiological saline. If skin contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and flush skin with running water. Do not re-use contaminated clothing until washed. Seek medical attention. Treat skin and mucosal membrane with antihistamine and corticoid preparations. Not normally a problem due to method of use. However, if breathing is affected, remove victim from contaminated area. If problem persists seek urgent medical attention. An eye wash fountain, safety shower and general washing facility should be available adjacent to the work area. Probable mucosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES Extinguishing Media Hazards from Combustion Precautions for Fire Fighters Hazchem Use appropriate extinguishing media (extinguishing powder, CO 2, foam) to suit surrounding area. Material does not burn. Wear chemical splash suit and SCBA. Spraying water over product generates heat and produces highly corrosive liquid. Contact with metals may evolve flammable hydrogen gas. Collect contaminated fire water separately. It must not enter drains. 2R

Page 3 of 5 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Emergency Procedures Clean Up Keep unauthorised people away. Do not touch or walk through spilled material. Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Prevent product entering the environment, (drains, stormwater etc). Spills will be slippery so treat promptly. Collect large amounts in a suitable container. Cover the rest with absorbent, mix intensively and recover mechanically. Suitable binder: Multi-purpose absorbent. Dispose of contaminated material as waste according to Section 13. 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling Storage Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin and eye contact. Use in well ventilated area. Keep containers closed when not in use. Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene. Wash hands immediately after using product. Corrosive product. Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated place out of direct sunlight. Store in closed containers. Store away from incompatible materials such as acids, aluminium or zinc. Keep only in original container. Stored locked up. Store away from foodstuffs. 8.
