6 2016 Grassroots Successes (as of December 9) You ve had 253 face-to-face meetings o 76 face-to-face Senate meetings (41 U.S., 38 Global) o 168 face-to-face House meetings (77 U.S., 97 Global) o Global volunteers also had 407 House and Senate aide meetings (U.S. does not track) We have 19 new RESULTS groups o Global: 81 groups covering 44 states (12 new groups in 2016) o U.S.: 40 groups covering 37 states (7 new groups, 1 restart in 2016)

7 2016 Grassroots Successes You ve had 485 media pieces published! o Global volunteers 370 media pieces 281 letters to the editor, 43 op-eds, 11 editorials, 35 articles/radio/other o U.S. volunteers 163 media pieces 133 letters to the editor, 12 op-eds, 4 editorials, 14 articles/radio/other You ve done 170 outreach events this year o U.S. volunteers have done 89 outreach events and fundraisers o Global volunteers have done 96 outreach events and fundraisers

8 2016 Grassroots Successes U.S. Poverty Campaigns o Your advocacy helped keep the block granting of SNAP out of Speaker Paul Ryan s A Better Way plan (something he has pursued for years) o You ve helped build bipartisan momentum for expanding the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) o You set records for the number of U.S. Poverty groups (40) and Senate face-to-face meetings (41)

9 2016 Grassroots Successes Global Poverty Campaigns o You secured a three-year, $4.3 billion U.S. pledge to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria to support a plan to save 8 million lives. o You built unprecedented bipartisan support for ending preventable maternal and child deaths through the Reach Every Mother and Child Act, which now has the support of a majority of the House and onethird of the Senate. o You pushed the Education for All Act to the brink of being passed into law, setting the stage for our critical global education campaign next year.
