EMERGENCY OVERVIEW DANGER! CORROSIVE! Corrosive. Causes severe eye irritation or burns with possible corneal damage and blindness. Skin contact may cause severe irritation or burns. May be absorbed through the skin causing systemic effects. Vapors or mists may cause irritation to the eyes, mucous membranes and respiratory tract. Higher concentrations may cause severe irritation and pulmonary edema. Ingestion may cause gastrointestinal corrosion, abdominal pain, nausea, shock or death. May cause chronic effects. HEALTH HAZARDS: INHALATION: Mist and vapors may cause severe irritation to the eyes, mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract. High concentrations may cause headache, dizziness, nausea, weakness, and other central nervous system effects. May cause pulmonary edema. SKIN CONTACT: May cause severe irritation and burns with reddening and pain. 2-Butoxyethanol may be absorbed through the skin cause systemic poisoning. Prolonged or repeated skin contact with diluted solutions or mists may cause dermatitis. EYE CONTACT: Liquid or mists may cause severe burns, tearing and blurred vision. INGESTION: May cause gastrointestinal corrosion, abdominal pain and nausea, muscle weakness, weak pulse, circulatory shock and death. CHRONIC EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE: Repeated skin contact with diluted solutions or mists may cause dermatitis. Prolonged or repeated contact may cause damage to the liver and kidneys. MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE: Individuals with chronic respiratory, eye or skin diseases may be at increased risk from exposure to this material. SECTION 4 FIRST AID MEASURERS EYE CONTACT: Immediately flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes while lifting the upper and lower lids. Get immediate medical attention. SKIN CONTACT: Immediately flush skin thoroughly with water for 15 minutes. Wash area with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and launder before reuse. Get immediate medical attention. INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. If breathing has stopped give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult have qualified personnel administer oxygen. Get immediate medical attention. INGESTION: If conscious, give 1 glass of water or milk to dilute. DO NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to a person who is unconscious or convulsing. Get immediate medical attention. Selection of respiratory protection depends on the contaminant type, form and concentration. Select in accordance with OSHA 1910.134 and good Industrial Hygiene practice.
