F O R E W O R D This booklet contains the schedules of all courses taught to the predoctoral dental students and dental hygiene students in the College of. Also, it contains the College of s academic calendar and examination schedules for the current academic year. Please be advised that the calendar and schedules are subject to change without advance notice. Students in the College of are expected to attend all scheduled lectures, laboratories and clinic assignments. Attendance taken in the classrooms, laboratories and clinics is related directly to student accountability and professional responsibility. When students miss twenty percent (20%) of scheduled classes, laboratories or clinic assignments for which they have not secured an approved excuse, three percentage (6%) points will be deducted from their final grade in that course. Requests for excused absences must be submitted to the Office of the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs within twenty-four (24) hours following the absence, unless the student is too ill to do so, and must be accompanied by the necessary supporting documents. Requests for excused absences for missed examinations or quizzes due to illness will be processed by the Office of the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs. All other excuses will be provided by the respective course directors. An unexcused absence from any scheduled examination will result in a zero (0) grade for that examination Students, who receive excuses, must make arrangements with the Course Director of the missed examination, within forty-eight (48) hours of returning to school, to take the make-up examination. The make-up examination must be taken within 5 business days of the students return. All make-up examinations not given or rescheduled within the specified time indicated, due to negligence on the part of the student, will result in an F grade (numerical grade of Zero) for that examination. Excused absence from clinic service assignments must be made up at a subsequent date approved by the departmental chairman and the Associate Dean for Affairs. During the final examination period, all classes and clinics are suspended. The examination schedules for (D1) first year dental students are published separately. Grades in the College of are reported as: A (excellent); B (above average); C (average); and F (failing).
