Health Fact Sheet Body Signs There are numerous clues which the body gives, indicating a variety of underlying conditions or imbalances. Here are just a few of them.. Dandruff on Scalp - Due to yeast overgrowth, and/or EFA deficiencies and Vitamin B6 and/or selenium. Check for candida, drink pau d arco tea, cut out sugary foods. Take selenium and B6. Up intake of EFAs and flaxseeds or oil. Wash hair in chamomile or tea tree shampoos and rinse with 1 cup cider vinegar and 10 drops peppermint oil. Excessive Yawning & Sighing If not due to boredom, signs you are suffering from low blood sugar Eyes Pale inside lower lid anaemia, take more iron. Also possible requirement for more B vitamins Dark circles under eyes possible food allergies, poor kidney function, or dehydration Mouth Cracks at each corner deficiency in Vitamin B12 Puffy Lower Lip - problems with digestive tract, constipation and/or lazy bowel. Cheeks Veins Close to Surface on Cheeks/ Raised Capillaries - Digestive enzyme insufficiency or low stomach acid. Take HCL tablets before main meal and a digestive enzyme supplement. Eat foods high in food enzymes ie. sprouted seeds, raw fruits and vegetables. Ears Cracks Behind Ears - Zinc deficiency take zinc supplement and eat pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and papayas for at least 6 months. Wax Oozing from Ears - EFA deficiency supplement EFAs, esp Omega 3, use flax oil and linseeds on salads. Cut back on mucous forming dairy products. A lot of discharge from the ears - points to the need to cleanse and detoxify quite badly. Itchy ears - relates to electrolyte imbalance with too much sodium.
Tongue A healthy tongue should be smooth, supple and slightly moist. Pale red in colour, with a very thin white film. Crack down the middle - weak stomach and digestion. Probable nutrient depletion. Take digestive enzymes, chew food properly. Eat easily digested food. Teethmarks around the side sign of nutritional deficiency. Probable impairment to digestion and spleen. Eat foods which nourish the spleen to strengthen it ie. aduki and mung beans, alfalfa, barley, millet, oats, carrots, parsley, parsnips, pumpkin, chicken, fennel, root vegetables, turnips Sore Tongue nutrient deficiency usually iron, B6, niacin. Take mineral supplement. Drink nettle tea. Burning Tongue stomach lacking digestive juices. Possible tummy trouble. Take 1 tsp Swedish Bitters daily to increase gastric juice. Also take 1 tsp apple cider vinegar before each meal. Drink dandelion tea. Swollen tongue and/or thick white coating too much mucous in the body. Signs of lack of good bacteria and possible candida. Also prone to bronchitis, colitis, oedema. Cut down on dairy. Take probiotics, drink pau d arco tea and check to see if you have candida. Horizontal Cracks, Small cracks/grooves sign of malabsorption, especially B vitamins. Take multivitamin, B complex, digestive enzymes. Need to move lymph, so skin brushing and echinacea to help body eliminate toxins. Also drink nettle tea, and aloe vera just before meal to help absorption. Thick Yellow Coating not enough good bacteria in gut. Bowels not working as they should. Acidity. Take aloe vera juice before meals, take probiotic supplement. White Marks White marks which appear as spots, streaks or affects all the nail Black Marks Purple-black marks on nail Caused by trauma to nail. Yellow Nails Discoloured and can be thickened. Slow growing Usually calcium deposits caused by trauma to nail, or zinc deficiency or possible fungal infection if the spots are rough to the touch. Nicotine staining, or discoloured from nail polish use, or possible fungal infection. May also be linked to poor lymph drainage. Hang Nails Painful, ragged cuticle Linked to exposure to cold, or biting, picking or chewing nails. Ingrowing Nails Breaking, splitting nails Spoon shaped nails Nail grows into flesh causing inflammation and soreness Easily break or shear off in layers Nails form a spoon shape on nail bed Cutting nails incorrectly. Cut nails straight across. Indication of liver problems. Also signs of deficiency in calcium, zinc, EFAs and possible low stomach acid and enzyme problems. Lack of iron Limbs Tender spots where arms meet shoulder - indicative of B12 deficiency Sore Knees soreness where the kneecap meets the bone points to vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Aching in joint indicative of acid build up and degeneration of joint Sore lower leg bone - if leg is sore when pressed indicator of vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Leg cramps possible magnesium deficiency and/or magnesium/ calcium imbalance.
