Hazards Identification Potential Health Effects: Eye: Eye contact can cause severe irritation, redness, tearing, blurred vision and may cause transient injury to cornea. Skin: Prolonged and/or repeated contact may cause irritation and/or dermatitis. Contact with skin causes irritation and positive burns, especially if the skin is wet or moist. Ingestion: Ingestion can cause severe internal irritation. Can be fatal if swallowed. Systemic poision affecting the centeral nervous system and kidney function as well as other organs. Inhalation: Dust can cause irritation or burns to the upper respiratory system, including nose, mouth and throat. Can also irritate lungs. Chronic Overexposure Information: Teratology and Reproduction Information: Aggravation of Pre-Existing Conditions: Over exposure can cause hypocalcaemia and kidney injury.

If conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water. Get medical aid immediately. Inhalation: If symptoms develop, immediately move individual away from exposure and into fresh air. Seek immediate medical attention. Note to Physicians: Treat symptomatically and supportively. The use of calcium gluconate to precipitate the oxalate should be determined by only qualified medical personnel.
