Compression systems from KOB Innovative solutions for greater effectiveness and wellbeing

Make sure that the pressure is right More effectiveness and comfort in compression therapy Venous diseases are some of the most frequent conditions worldwide and, due to rising life expectancy, will increase further in the future. Treatment is a challenge for doctors and therapists alike and greatly affects the patients quality of life. Compression therapy continues to be the basic treatment for patients suffering from conditions of the venous and lymphatic system. Ranging from traditional short-stretch bandages to innovative multi layer compression systems, KOB is offering a complete portfolio, supplying customers with products for a successful therapy in accordance with the indication. In this field, KOB has succeeded in further developing individual products in such a way that doctors and therapists can make treatment easier and more efficient, whilst patients experience improved comfort. Benefit from our experience and competence We turn the requirements of your target groups into the basis of our developments. The result is wearer-friendly solutions that are tailored to suit people s needs and that help achieve excellent results. Why not benefit from our competence to successfully position yourself in the marketplace with products made by KOB? Convince yourself of the quality of our product range We develop individual products for you and offer you a comprehensive range of compression products for phlebology and lymphology therapies. Whether you are interested in a private label product featuring your own individual style or a standard product the choice is yours!

Classical compression therapy Short-stretch bandages Long-stretch bandages Zinc paste bandages A KOB classic: The effective shortstretch bandages made from 100 % cotton. The bandages can be washed and sterilised. They are also extremely skin- friendly, airpermeable and very absorbent. If there is little resting pressure and much working pressure, the short-stretch bandages are characterised by high levels of stiffness. This makes them an ideal candidate for a very effective and safe compression therapy. The main fields of application range from chronic venous diseases, in particular during acute phases, to cases of venous ulcers (ulcus cruris). They are also very suitable for lymphatic compression treatment. The long-stretch bandages made by KOB offer patients active and permanent compression at high resting pressure and moderate stiffness. Due to their high ratio of natural fibre, these bandages are air-permeable, skin-friendly and absorbent. Long-stretch bandages can be used for preventative treatment, during acute episodes and for follow-up therapy. Indications range from thrombosis to chronically venous insufficiency. They are also very effective as support bandages in the treatment of contusions, distortions, dislocations and fractures. With our zinc paste bandages you achieve a high level of working pressure at a very low resting pressure. These bandages are therefore ideal for ulcers as well as many other venous diseases. Due to the skin-friendly zinc paste that the bandages contain, they can be perfectly adjusted to all contours of the human body. After drying out, the bandage becomes semi-rigid and therefore especially suitable for immobile patients. The bandage can remain on the extremity up to several days. This makes the bandage a particularly economical product. This type of bandage is also used for the follow-up treatment of fractures.

Key features at one glance: Very comfortable to wear Easy to use Therapeutically effective pressure for up to 7 days Enables patient to wear normal shoes The new, innovative 2-Component-System The 2-Component-System offers the total compression force needed for medical effectiveness. Thanks to the excellent padding and the consistency of the cohesive properties, it can be left on the extremity for up to seven days. The singlesided coating on the surface of the padding bandage and doublesided coating of the outer compression bandage ensure that the layers of the bandage adhere securely to each other. The 2-Component-System is suitable for the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) of level 3 *. Depending on the indication, it can also be used to treat deep vein thromboses and post-thrombotic syndrome. * Classification according to Widmer The first component/ the inner layer: Cohesive padding bandage 754 The second component/ the outer layer: Cohesive compression bandage 752 The single-sided cohesive coated elastic bandage serves as a padding layer. It distributes the pressure of the outer layer evenly along the leg to ensure the required compression pressure and prevents constriction if the layers overlap. It has an extensibility limiter that reduces the recoiling force and makes the applications secure. The 752 is a cohesive, permanently elastic bandage, which, thanks to its material properties, retains the compressive effect over several days when used in combination with the first component. Its cohesive, latex free coating prevents slipping: the bandage adheres to itself or the padding bandage and not to the skin, hair or clothing. The cohesion also eliminates the need for clips or tapes to secure the bandage.

How much compression do you need? With drugs, it s the exact dosage in compression therapy, it s the right amount of pressure. It needs to fit the indication, the affected body part, the treatment course as well as the patient s mobility and health status. The successful treatment of venous diseases, lymph oedemas, or postoperative patients calls for individual, targeted therapy. How high should the pressure be at rest and how high the working pressure? How mobile should the patient be and how elastic the bandage? In all these considerations, it is crucial to focus not on the individual components, but on the dressing as a whole and as one element in an effective and economic therapeutic effort. Four variables, one effect The following characteristics serve to define the dressing and its application in therapy: P La C E P = Pressure The targeted degree of resting and working pressure depends on the indication and the individual patient. La = Layer The number of layers in the whole dressing has a direct impact on elasticity and pressure. C = Components Each compression dressing consists of several components, one of which is the elastic bandage. E = Elasticity The more elastic the dressing, the higher the pressure at rest and the lower the working pressure. Elasticity isn t only in the bandage: the importance of dressing While we offer our products as short- and long-stretch bandages and provide information about the specific elasticity, these purely textile-technological aspects tell little about the concrete effect in therapy. When considering the therapeutic impact, the Static Stiffness Index (SSI) of the applied compression bandage provides the necessary information. It is defined as the difference between working pressure and pressure at rest and serves as a key indicator of therapeutic effectiveness. Pressure dosage, components, elasticity, and SSI values matter to your end customers let s talk about them!
