Introduction to The Miracle Mind Method Welcome to Session 4 of the Mind Method! The Mind Method is a simple concept, easy to implement and it works amazingly fast. But you don't have to take my word for it. Now that you are in possession of The Mind Method you will have a chance soon to begin implementing the technique yourself and benefit from the results. There are 4 Primary Components to the Mind Method that will aid us in making the changes necessary for us to succeed in any venture. These Components are weaved throughout the Method by discussion and example in the Session Notes, the Session Audio Companion and in every Session Exercise. Some of these beliefs are self-evident, others I may have to convince you that they are, in fact, true. As we work though the Session Notes, Session Audios and Session Exercises I believe you'll begin to see a compelling picture of how the Mind Method can be a powerful force for change in your life. I expect that as you engage in Sessions and complete the exercises, the results you'll achieve will be more than enough to convince you of the power of this Method. The 4 Primary Belief Components of The Mind Method are: 1) Words are important and have the power to focus your mind to get what you want 2) Images (felt with emotion) motivate us and drive us towards good or bad 3) Futuring exercises are the key to change and greater success in our life 4) Our personal habits are the result of Inner Motivators (IM's) created by Belief #1, #2 and #3 above and dictate the ultimate quality of our life Habits and the change of our habits can only come from Inner Motivators. And our habits dictate the quality of our lives. If you have the habit of thinking the very worst in every situation, how do you think that would affect the quality of your life? It would not be a very pleasant way to live. You would always be afraid. But there are a lot of people who have this habit. I can tell you their life is very unpleasant.
If that person could change their mind, they could change their life. And that's what this program is all about and I hope that is what it will do for you. So let's get started! I wish you success in all you do, THE AUTHOR Session 4: What Your Need To Do Now To Use The Miracle Mind Method For Fast Results In this Session we're going to start using the Mind Method in a way that will help us generate results fast. Let's review the 4 Primary components of the Mind Method: 1. Words are important and have the power to focus your mind to get what you want 2. Images (felt with emotion) motivate us and drive us towards good or bad 3. Futuring exercises are the key to change and greater success in our life 4. Our personal habits are the result of Inner Motivators (IM's) created by Belief #1, #2 and #3 above and dictate the ultimate quality of our life We have already discussed Mind Method Primary #1 and 2: Words. You've created your Switchword to help keep want you want in the front of your mind to generate creative ideas. We combined words with images and repeat them with emotion. It also helps you focus when you feel like you're drifting, confused or not sure what move to make next to get what you want. Hopefully you have also begun to experience the benefits of Switchwords. I have used the technique for years and it's amazing how effective it is. We've begun to use Mind Method Primary #3: Futuring. You've used it with the Time Sheets to prepare for the next day and craft the day the way you want it to go. If you're using this technique you know that it is effective and simple. We also used Futuring to create your Perfect Day. You thought about what your perfect day would be like and created it in your imagination. Review what you wrote once a month to keep it fresh in your mind. Now we're going to take the Futuring, Switchwords and another technique to move forward in getting what you want. Let me give you a bit of background on how this technique developed and why it's important to your ultimate success.
Emile Coue was a psychologist and pharmacist who developed a psychoanalytic technique called auto-suggestion and is widely considered to be the father of the self-improvement movement. He influenced people like Norman Vincent Peale and W. Clement Stone who were early leaders in selfimprovement who wrote books and gave lectures on the subject. Emile Coue suggested that anyone who desires to improve themselves repeat the phrase, Every day, in every way, I'm getting better and better several times each day. Does that sound familiar? It should. It's using Primary #1 of our Mind Method and Switchwords. Create a favorable result. The idea is to connect with your subconscious and tap its massive creative potential. I have read many self-improvement books that were influenced by Emile Coue including those by Normal Vincent Peale and W. Clement Stone. I also read Emile Coue's original self-improvement work, The Practice of Auto- Suggestion but it was several years after I had read the books mentioned by Peale and Stone. I expected to find much of the very same type of material in Mr. Coue's book and I did, however, there was one thing that stood out that I hadn't read in any other self-improvement book: The idea of the interrelatedness of the mind and body Most of the self-improvement books I have read state that the mind alone was responsible for our success, with the exception of the occasional mention that being in good physical condition with regular exercise is important for success, there was little mention of the way the mind and body can work together to increase results. Mr. Coue, the earliest of self-improvement leaders, said that without the body's cooperation, progress was likely to be limited. Now, he did not elaborate in great detail how the mind and body can form a cooperative effort for success. But my own experiments in this and those I have read about will shed some light on how this cooperation can be created. Think about how your body works: Impulses are sent to the brain that moves the part of the body that requires action. Where do these impulses start? In the brain. You see something you want, let's say an apple, and the impulse is sent to the brain to move the arm and hands to grab the apple and eat it.
It's completely automatic but it's completely automatic because it's something you want. If you didn't want it then it would be a struggle to force yourself to pick the apple and eat it. Right? Something you don't want to do is hard; it takes a great amount of effort. But if it's something you want, it's almost effortless.... The key is that the impulse is sent because you desire the apple to eat so...the act of moving your body to get what you want is effortless. Some people say they want to succeed but struggle. It's hard for them instead of effortless so they don't make any progress. What's the problem there? The problem is they say they want to succeed but really mean something else, that's why it's so hard. They think they want success, but there's something that is blocking the impulse to make the process effortless. So why would they say they want to succeed when they really mean something else? It's the same reason many people will say they want to do one thing and then mean something else in other areas of their lives. Here are a few examples*: When people ask: "How am I doing?" They really mean: "Wouldn't you agree that I'm doing a fantastic job?" When people say: "I live paycheck to paycheck." They really mean: "I spend almost every penny I make and lack the discipline to save money." When people say: "I think we should start seeing other people." Or they say: "I think we should just be friends." They really mean: "Get out of my life because I'm already moving on without you." When people say: "It's time for you to make a decision." They really mean: "It's time for you to do what I've been recommending all along." (*SOURCE: Excerpted with edits from an article by Terry Mitchell at helium.com):
In most cases you say one thing but mean something else because either you don't want to hurt someone s feeling by being too blunt or you don't want to admit the hard truth to yourself because it's too painful. In both cases it's an attempt to avoid uncomfortable feelings or situations. But the Mind Method requires that our mind and body are in perfect harmony. That means not lying to ourselves and, at the same time being comfortable with emotional pain and discomfort at times. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS: What we say and what we do must be in harmony no matter how uncomfortable it makes us feel. The perfect practice of the Mind Method means that what you want, you get and it's nearly an effortless process I didn't say easy, I said effortless meaning without an internal struggle. The primary struggle on our path to success in anything is this lack of harmony between what we say and what we do. It's a battle we have with ourselves that causes failure. In other words you can't say you want to be successful but not take the correct action required to be successful. If you are in total harmony with what you want and are acting in harmony with what you say, you will become successful very fast. Internal Motivators (IM's) are the key to this mind-body harmony. If you truly desire success then how you act must be congruent with what you say. You say you want to be successful yet when it comes time to make that sales call or execute the marketing plan you've created you find some excuse for not doing it. That is not harmony, that's disharmony. Remember that action is caused by an impulse to the brain to get you to take action towards what you want. In order for you to get the impulse, you must have the desire to get what you want. At that point, the mind and the body are working in harmony. The mind receives the impulse and puts the body in motion.
Switchwords are the key to creating IM's that direct the body to take action. This is an advanced concept of Switchwords... Switchwords not only help keep what we want in the front of our minds and help us focus when we get distracted they also create a build-up of IM's. Whenever you repeat, with emotion and imagery, the Switchword you created in Session 1 you deposit, in some part of the mind, little IM's that get stored in our subconscious. At some point the build-up becomes critical and it creates an impulse to the brain that tells the brain to move the body or direct the body through speech and action to get what we want. At that point, we act because we have the impulse to act from within. Our body and our mind are in harmony there is no struggle we are doing what we say: Switchwords Action We created the desire for what we want, we repeated it with emotion using our words and speech and directed the body though impulses stored through a build-up of IM's in the subconscious to get what we want. This is the essence of The Mind Method. The body and mind working in harmony to get what we want. But here is the most critical component of achieving success using the Mind Method: When an impulse comes from using your Switchword, you must take action immediately! WARNING: If you fail to take action when you get an impulse to act in the direction of your goal then you are no longer in harmony and you will not succeed. You see both the mind and the body must act as one. You are directing the mind and subconscious mind through the switchword technique and they will create the impulses and direct your body into action.
If you fail to use Switchwords then you will not get the impulses. If you fail to act on the impulses you get from using Switchwords then you will not take action. Most people get into this vicious circle and never find a way out. They say they want success but get few impulses to act because they don't know how to generate those internal motivators and desire from within. Or they act without a strong internal impulse so quit too soon because they have not built up a store house of IM's. They try this and try that but fail because there is no mind-body cooperation. You need both to succeed otherwise you go back to struggling and will be in a constant state of disharmony. As I have frequently stated in this Course, it does not matter what field you are trying to succeed in business, sports, politics, etc. - harmony between the mind and body is the key to success. Also keep this in mind: The Mind Method is the codification (the process of standardizing and developing a norm) of a universal truth that really successful people use (consciously or not). You must keep what you want, at all times, in the front of your mind and then act on those impulses that direct you to take action to get what you want. The Mind Method makes the process simple and easy. Whether they realize it or not, every single person who has ever been successful in any field has followed this exact pattern of mind-body cooperation and harmony. What the Mind Method does is break down the component parts of this process in a common language so that anyone can achieve success using these principles! Switchwords Impulse Action Success There are a few self-improvement thought leaders who have stated that you can fake it until you make it. As we've seen though, that technique might work for a while but eventually the disharmony it creates between the mind and body will break down and cause failure.
Or there is one school of thought that says to be successful, you must act successful. There are a lot of people who have taken this advice, succeeded, and then been inflicted with the feeling that they truly don't deserve the success they have achieved and eventually self-destruct. The reason they self-destruct (through alcoholism, drugs and dangerous hobbies and lifestyle) is because they lack this mind-body harmony. The Mind Method is all about a mind-body harmony and creates a natural environment to help you achieve the greatest possible self-fulfillment. It is not about making millions of dollars it's about creating a rich life and if lots of money is part of that life you want, then there is nothing wrong with that just as there is nothing wrong with someone who wants to be successful at living a minimalist lifestyle or to be an artist. It's all about YOUR SUCCESS and being in total peace, harmony with yourself and the world around you no matter what you do. WHAT TO DO NOW Please listen to the Audio Companion for Session 4, then open your Session 4 Exercise Worksheet and begin the exercise. Instructions for the exercise are at the beginning of the Session 4 Exercise Worksheet. Continue to use your Time Sheets from the Session 1 Exercise Worksheet as well as continue using your Switchword as often as possible each day. Best wishes for your success, Chris Cains
