First SAMO Workshop on Multidisciplinary Approaches to Gastrointestinal Tumors 25 th and 26 th April 2008 Hotel Hermitage, Lucerne Continuous Education SGMO/SSMO 10 credits (category B) SRO 10 credits SGC/SSC 10 credits
Dear colleague, It is with great pleasure that the faculty of the Swiss Academy of Multidisciplinary Oncology (SAMO) invites you to the first workshop on multidisciplinary approaches to gastrointestinal tumors. The founders of SAMO have experienced the enthusiasm of interactive medical education abroad and by organizing recently two workshops on chest tumors. Problems from daily practice when treating patients with colon cancer with or without liver metastases will be discussed. Interactive discussion with experts and discussions to frequently asked questions will help us to find best solutions in specific cases. It is the aim of SAMO to bring together multidisciplinary medical experts from the oncologic field. Reputable speakers present topics and stimulate questions and interaction. Participants are invited to present own cases to discussion groups. The workshops are designed to provide time for discussion of frequently seen cases at tumorboards. This year GI workshop is dedicated to three different subjects: 1. Investigations for staging of colorectal cancer (MRI, PET, US.) 2. Adjuvant and neoadjuvant radio-chemotherapy of rectal cancer 3. Therapy of metastatic colon cancer with emphasis on liver metastases The workshop will be held at the Hermitage in Lucerne and includes dinner on Friday evening and one night s stay. SAMO has received an unrestricted grant from Roche, thus allowing us to invite you without any registration or accommodation fees. We would be very pleased if you would send us the attached registration form before March 15 th, 2008. As the number of participants is limited, registration will be accepted according to date of receipt. In case you need more information please feel free to contact Mrs. Anita Hiltbrunner at the secretary of the Swiss Academy of Multidisciplinary Oncology (anita.hiltbrunner@ibcsg.org), who will be pleased to help you.
