It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this product are informed of all precautions. 2. Use this product only as described. 3. Handle the sensor with care; do not knock, shake, or drop the sensor. 4. This product is intended for indoor use only. Do not expose the sensor to direct sunlight for extended periods of time. 5. There should always be a mattress between the sensor and the user. When the sensor is in use, it should not directly contact the user. 6. Do not use heating blankets with the sensor. 7. Use only the included power cord and power adapter with the sensor. 8. Plug the power adapter into an outlet that is close to your bed. 9. This product features state-of-the-art sleep monitoring technology. Due to the limitations of the technology, there are factors that may affect the accuracy of some readings. These factors include but are not limited to the user s physical characteristics, the location of the sensor, and the user s movement during sleep. This product is not a medical device and should not be used to prevent, diagnose, treat, or cure any disease or health condition. 10. Do not use the sensor if it is damaged. 11. Keep children under age 13 and pets away from the sensor at all times. 12. Do not attempt to open or service the sensor. 13. Keep water away from the sensor. Do not use abrasive cleaners to clean the sensor. 14. Use and store the sensor in a clean, dry environment at temperatures between 41 F (5 C) and 104 F (40 C). 1

Quickstart Guide 1 2 3 Remove the sensor and the power cord/adapter from the box. Plug the power cord into the sensor. Plug the power adapter into an outlet near your bed. A green indicator on the sensor will light, indicating that power is on. Make sure BLUETOOTH is turned on in your phone settings. We recommend that you connect your phone to power throughout the night while using the app to ensure continuous tracking. 4 5 Download the app at ifit.com/ sleepapp and initiate setup. Once pairing is complete, a blue indicator on the sensor will light, indicating a successful connection. The sensor is now ready to be placed under your mattress. Slide the sensor under your mattress with the power cord facing out. Place it around where your external shoulder will lie. Each night, make sure the app is open before you go to bed. Before you Begin The following components are included in the box: one sensor*, one power cord, one power adapter, and instructions. *Depending on the model that you have, two sensors may be included. Each sensor tracks one person. Use only a 5V DC, 2.0A max power adapter that is safety-approved and registered for a safety standard such as IEC 60950-1 or IEC 60335-1. Congratulations for choosing the revolutionary NORDICTRACK Sleep Coach. Few things are more important than a good night of rest. The NORDICTRACK Sleep Coach is designed to help you develop a personal strategy for achieving the most restful sleep possible, night after night. While you slumber, the NORDICTRACK Sleep Coach will continuously track your heart rate, respiration rate, and movement. It will use this information to measure the time that it takes you to fall asleep; identify your REM, light, and deep sleep stages; measure your total sleep time; and more. A nightly sleep score will then be calculated, and information about your sleep session will be available for you to review with the ifit Sleep app on your ios or Android device. You can even log information about pre-bedtime activities such as exercising or drinking caffeine to see how they affect your sleep. To install the free ifit Sleep app, set up and pair the sensor, and begin using the NORDICTRACK Sleep Coach, see the instructions on pages 4 9. 3

Install The ifit Sleep App And Pair The Sensor To The App IMPORTANT: If your model includes one sensor, follow the instructions below. If your model includes two sensors, see page 5. Install the ifit Sleep App and Pair the Sensor to the App To use the NORDICTRACK Sleep Coach, you must have an ios device (iphone 4s and later) or an Android device (Android 5.0 and later) that supports BLUETOOTH 4.0 wireless technology. Visit the App Store or the Google Play store, do a search for the free ifit Sleep app, and install the app on your device. Next, open the app and touch Join to create an ifit account (or touch Log In to log in to your existing ifit account). Then, follow the instructions in the app to set up the sensor and to pair and sync the sensor to the app. Following is a summary of the procedure: 1. Plug the small end of the power cord fully into the power port on the sensor. 2. Make sure that the power cord is plugged fully into the power adapter. Then, plug the power adapter into an appropriate outlet that is close to your bed. The green indicator on the sensor will light. 3. Make sure that BLUETOOTH is enabled on your device. Hold your device close to the sensor, and touch Set Sensor in the ifit Sleep app. After several seconds, the sensor will pair with the app. The blue indicator on the sensor will light. Note: The sensor can track only one person. 4. See POSITION THE SENSOR on page 6. 4

Install the ifit Sleep App and Pair Both Sensors To use two sensors, two persons must have ios devices (iphone 4s and later) or Android devices (Android 5.0 and later) that support BLUETOOTH 4.0 wireless technology. Each person should visit the App Store or the Google Play store, do a search for the free ifit Sleep app, and install and open the app on his or her device. Each person should then touch Join to create an ifit account (or touch Log In to log in to an existing ifit account); each person must have a different ifit account on his or her device. One person should then follow the instructions in the ifit Sleep app to set up a sensor and pair and sync the sensor to the app on his or her device. After the first person does this, the second person should set up the second sensor and pair and sync it to the app on his or her device. Following is a summary of the procedure: 1. Plug one of the small ends of the power cord fully into the power port on one sensor; do not plug the power cord into the second sensor yet. 2. Make sure that the power cord is plugged fully into the power adapter. Then, plug the power adapter into an appropriate outlet that is close to your bed. The green indicator on the sensor will light. 3. Make sure that BLUETOOTH is enabled on the first person s device. Hold the device close to the sensor, and touch Set Sensor in the ifit Sleep app. After several seconds, the sensor will pair with the app. The blue indicator on the sensor will light. 4. Plug the other end of the power cord into the second sensor. The green indicator on the sensor will light. Then, repeat step 3 with the second person s device. Note: Each sensor can track only one person; each person must use a different sensor. 5. See POSITION THE SENSOR on page 6. 5

Position The Sensor Follow the instructions below that apply to the number of sensors that you have. Position One Sensor under Your Mattress Follow all of the instructions on page 4. Next, orient the sensor so the ifit logo is on top. Insert the sensor under your mattress, and position it so it will be below your chest when you are lying on your mattress (if you sleep with another person, position the sensor so it will be under the side of your chest that is farthest from the other person). There must be a firm surface under the sensor. Then, turn the sensor so the power port is facing the edge of your bed closest to the outlet, and route the power cord toward that edge of your bed. Make sure that the power cord is not stretched and that it will not be stepped on or tripped on. Note: If you have a NORDICTRACK Sleep mattress, insert the sensor into one of the pockets on the underside of the mattress; the sensor must be below your chest when you are lying on the mattress. If desired, route the power cord through the cord loops on the underside of the mattress. One Sensor Two Sensors Position Two Sensors under Your Mattress Follow all of the instructions on page 5. Next, orient the sensors so the ifit logos are on top. Insert the sensors under your mattress, and position them as shown at the right. There must be a firm surface under the sensors. Then, turn each sensor so the power port is facing the closest edge of your bed, and route the power cord as shown at the right. Make sure that the power cord is not stretched and that it will not be stepped on or tripped on. Note: If you have a NORDICTRACK Sleep mattress, insert the sensors into the two outer pockets on the underside of the mattress. If desired, route the power cord through the cord loops on the underside of the mattress. 6

Use The NORDICTRACK Sleep Coach Important Sensor Tips The use of the sensor close to a source of vibration may have a negative effect on the accuracy of measurements. The sensor does not have a battery and must be left plugged in to operate. If it is not plugged in, or if a power failure occurs, no sleep data will be collected. Once the sensor has been paired with the ifit Sleep app on your ios or Android device, the sensor will automatically sync with your device any time the app is active on your device and your device is within about 30 feet (9 m) of the sensor. The sensor will be activated automatically when you lie down on your bed. Important ios or Android Device Tips To use the NORDICTRACK Sleep Coach, you must have an ios device (iphone 4s and later) or an Android device (Android 5.0 and later) that supports BLUETOOTH 4.0 wireless technology. Your device s battery will be used more quickly while your device is receiving data from the sensor. It is recommended that you leave your device connected to your charger while you sleep. If your device is not connected and its battery drains, no data will be received from the sensor. BLUETOOTH must be activated on your device for data from the sensor to be received. If the BLUETOOTH connection is lost, it will not be possible to retrieve any lost data. You must enable Wi-Fi or another data connection on your device to use some features of the ifit Sleep app (see OVERVIEW OF THE IFIT SLEEP APP on page 8). Note that this will affect your device's data usage. If you disconnect your device before you sleep, reconnect it after you wake up to use all of the features of the app. 7

Overview of the ifit Sleep App After you open the ifit Sleep app on your device and log in, touch the menu icon (the three horizontal bars) near the upper-left corner of your screen to see the following options: BEFORE SLEEP When you are ready to sleep, select this screen and place your device near your bed. When the sensor under your mattress syncs with your device, a green circle and the words Sensor Connected will appear near the top of the screen. (When the sensor is not synced, a red circle and the words Sensor Disconnected will appear.) The timer in the center of the screen will then start. After you lie down on your bed, your heart rate and your respiratory rate will be displayed after a few minutes. If you wish to set an alarm, touch the alarm menu near the bottom of the screen, then touch the alarm clock icon near the upper-right corner of the screen, and then make the desired settings. You can also touch the journal icon near the upper-right corner of the BEFORE SLEEP screen and log information about your pre-sleep activities such as eating a large meal, consuming alcohol, or exercising. You can later review your journal entries to see how the activities affect your sleep. SLEEP SUMMARY After you wake up, select this screen to see a summary of your sleep session and your sleep score, a general assessment of the quality of your sleep session. Scroll downward to see detailed information about your sleep session. GRAPH VIEW After you wake up, select this screen to view a graph of the REM, light, and deep sleep stages of your sleep session and the times that you were awake or out of bed. In addition, view graphs of your heart rate, respiratory rate, and movement during your sleep session. CALENDAR When you select this screen, you can touch any date for which there is a sleep score and/or a journal entry and review the information for that date. SETTINGS When you select this screen, you can view or update information in your personal profile. You can also see the pairing number of the sensor. 8

EXTRAS Select this screen to learn more about the ifit Sleep app. You will find setup and use instructions, answers to frequently asked questions, and more. LOG OUT Select this screen if you ever need to log out of the ifit Sleep app. For additional information, take time to further explore the ifit Sleep app. For help, touch the menu icon (the three horizontal bars) near the upper-left corner of the screen, and then touch EXTRAS. Limited Warranty ICON Health & Fitness, Inc. (ICON) warrants the NORDICTRACK Sleep Coach to be free from defects in workmanship and material, under normal use and service conditions. Parts are warranted for one (1) year from the date of purchase. This warranty extends only to the original purchaser (customer). ICON s obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing, at ICON s option, this product through one of its authorized service centers. All repairs for which warranty claims are made must be preauthorized by ICON. If the product is shipped to a service center, freight charges to and from the service center will be the customer s responsibility. If a replacement product is shipped while the product is under warranty, the customer will be responsible for a minimal handling charge. This warranty will automatically be voided if all instructions in this manual are not followed or if the product is abused or improperly or abnormally used. No other warranty beyond that specifically set forth above is authorized by ICON.
