Self-Assessment* Page (of ) What is Your Behavioral Style? Most of us tend to adopt a different set of behaviors in different environments. Some of us tend to be more relaxed and humorous at home and more serious and focused at work, while others are exactly the opposite. We might also find ourselves displaying a different set of behaviors in social settings (outside of work and family). And a few of us display the same set of behaviors regardless of the situation or environment. Because of our tendency to display different behaviors in different environments, it is helpful to choose a focus of what setting you d want to assess your behavior in*. To find out your style, complete the following steps:. Choose an environment that you want to focus on, and keep this environment in mind as you answer the questions on the next four pages. Choose your environment now: at home at work social setting: (e.g. with friends, at church, social/civic club, etc.)! You can always come back later and choose a different focus! You can also complete this form* online, at http://egsebastian.com/selfassessment. While keeping in mind the environment that you want to focus on, check all descriptors that apply to you on the pages that follow.. Add up your subtotals after each section, then add up the three totals at the bottom of each page. Do your very best to choose descriptors that really describe you, vs. the ones that you would like to be described by** (not always an easy task ). Ask a close friend or family member complete the assessment for you the truth probably lies somewhere in between the two results*.. Your dominant style(s) is/are the one(s) where you check or more descriptors. Optional: you can plot your numbers on page of the assessment and unite the dots with a line to form your behavioral style graph. Your dominant style(s) will be above the midline. * - This self-assessment has not been tested for validity or reliability. Its sole purpose is to give the respondent a general idea of his or her behavioral style. (This tool can also be used to find out others behavioral style.)
